Greetings Dear Committee Members & Friends, We are here this morning because we value our community and corporate leaders who work tirelessly and consistently to make a positive impact in Prince George’s County. We appreciate this wonderful opportunity to bring together members of our community to acknowledge and celebrate these inspiring individuals. It is my great pleasure and honor to welcome you to the 3rd annual Women In Business Development (WIBD) – Women’s History Month Awards Breakfast. Our continued focus is on promoting collaboration, growth and making connections. We kicked off 2018 last month by sending out a survey to get your thoughts and opinions on potential topics, initiatives and events for 2018. In our first meeting of the year, we used your feedback to facilitate a discovery session, designed to engage our member’s participation in planning three annual activities. We gained insight on our member’s interests and fresh ideas to implement this year. The outcome was invigorating and we were united on our 2018 theme of “The Season of Change”. Women are essential to the future of economic growth and success in Prince George’s County. We have the ability to make a difference and achieve anything that we want. I am proud to be a part of such a phenomenal group of women business leaders and owners from diverse backgrounds who enjoy coming together to learn from, encourage, and inspire one another, both professionally and personally. Without this type of collective commitment, we could not accomplish as much and would not live up to our community’s potential. There is truly a collaborative environment in Prince George’s County which allows us to achieve much more together than if each of us was just working alone. A new feature of our monthly meetings is hosting workshops that will be facilitated by our member firms. We also look forward to our signature event – “A Conversation with Her” in October in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. We are honored to have Ms. Dorothy Bailey, Vice Chair of the Prince George’s County Planning Board of M-NCPCC as our keynote speaker. We are excited and eager to recognize our 2018 award recipients. We greatly appreciate and thank our sponsors for their generosity and support of this event. There has never been a more exciting time to be involved with WIBD. We invite everyone to get involved. Men are included and we deeply appreciate your support! First time visitors have commented on what a welcoming, friendly and inclusive group we are. We remain committed to helping develop lasting business relationships and opportunities to collaborate in meaningful ways that benefit one another and our community. Thank you all for attending and for your support! Sincerely,

Shameeka Price
