Pastor Eric and Pastor Susan have been married for over 20 years, and the longer they are married the more he appreciates the gift that she is to his life. Pastor Eric is a father to 5 incredible kids. Fatherhood is big for him because his biological mom abandoned him at a Greyhound bus station when he was 5 years old. He never met his biological father. So to have a family of his own, after starting life with such a jacked-up depiction of family… it’s a blessing and a miracle (please believe). Eric lives with two core values: 1) He wants his wife to be his girlfriend when they are old and wrinkled. 2) Eric never wants his children to feel that he neglected them for ministry. He lives his life with these two values as his daily motivation. Eric’s testimony drives him to promote family and family values to all who will listen.

THANK YOU FROM OUR GLOBAL DIRECTOR
I am thrilled to serve with a talented staff and incredible volunteers like you! With all of my heart, I believe we’re serving in one of the most critical ministries in the church. When we are successful, the difference isn’t measured in our lives but quite possibly in generations. I believe that together, we can make an impact that will change our community – one precious life at a time.
What you do in Xtreme Kidz is more than babysitting or childcare. Xtreme Kidz is the church hard at work. So often, people refer to children as the “church of tomorrow,” the church of the next generation. I believe Xtreme Kidz is the church of today, the “church right now,” where children are being equipped to make a difference for Jesus Christ right now!
More than ever before, Xtreme Kidz is passionately pursuing the vision and direction of our church, helping kids experience God, engage in the community, be equipped for ministry, and be empowered to serve. More than ever, we are helping kids become unified in community and grow in their faith. More than ever, Xtreme Kidz is aligning with other ministries of our church to significantly impact kids as they grow from infancy to adulthood. More than ever before, Xtreme Kidz is partnering with families to help parents find success in their efforts as spiritual leaders. More than ever before, Xtreme Kidz is partnering with parents to grow emotionally, relationally, and spiritually healthy kids.
In whatever your official role is in Xtreme Kidz, you are a LEADER. As a leader in Xtreme Kidz, I thank you for your willingness to be used by God to do His work. Thank you to those who have paved the way. Thank you to those who helped start a children’s ministry. Thank you to our S.T.A.R.S- Stellar, Tenacious, Attentive, and Resilient Servants of Christ. You all make the children’s ministry of Zion Church a place where families and children feel known, loved, and valued. Personally, I believe God has a special place in His heart for those who unselfishly serve His children.
Serving in Xtreme Kidz isn’t just about giving, and tonight, we hope you feel celebrated, refreshed, and encouraged for your journey. Being on the XK team means having an extended family of like-minded people to experience community and spiritual growth with while helping kids do the same. I pray that you will experience powerful and lasting life changes through your service in Xtreme Kidz as you make a difference in kids’ lives. Thank you.
In His Service, Minister Kelli Richardson Global Director, Xtreme Kidz Children’s Ministry

LIVING LEGEND AWARD
PRESENTED TO PASTOR MICHAEL J. RODGERSThe Living Legend Award recognizes the passion and dedication of an individual to create an atmosphere of growth for children and families within the church. This person embodies our mission of “helping children develop their own faith and relationship with Jesus so they can change the world.” The recipient of this award shows outstanding leadership, has impeccable character and exemplifies the morals and values set forth by Zion Church and those established within Xtreme Kidz. A Living Legend perseveres, even through the most difficult of circumstances and does not back down from a challenge.
Ephesians 6:10-20 describes what we should do to fight against the enemy and how to stand strong in the Lord. This award is presented to a person who is able to do just that and more. Lastly, in Matthews 22:37-39 it says:
Jesus replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
To receive this award, one must be willing and able to demonstrate their love for God, their love for their neighbor and their love for themselves. This has been evident from the time Pastor Mike took up the mantle of serving in Xtreme Kidz. His love for children and families and his desire to see them turn their hearts and lives towards God has remained evident throughout his tenure and through the many health challenges he faced recently. His unwavering commitment, dedication and passion gives us great joy and we are honored to celebrate him tonight.
Although this is the first time we are giving this award, it will not be the last. It will now be called
The Michael J. Rodgers Award.
