A Blast from the Past The words "Holy Shit!" could be heard echoing around Slam City this week as the legendary Godfather of SL Wrestling Alpin Criss made an unexpected appearance in the Nexgen Central Training room. As one of the chief architects of the SLCW and the ACWS wrestling hud, Criss is widely recognized as the pioneer of sl wrestling. He stopped by to see all the changes being made in the world of wrestling and was impressed by how far things have come. there's no word on how long he'll be staying in town, but If you see him hanging around, be sure to thank him for his contribution to our community.

This was Alpin's reaction to hearing that BiGEvil now wears a robe to the ring and Sparky Von Qinworth is a wrestler.

For anyone who is interested, Alpin has put a vendor in Nexgen Central with all of his animations from the ACWS. Stop by and pick them up.

It was a beautiful day in Phoenix Pass, perfect weather for the Beach, Bikinis, and brawling at Six on the Beach. Even Numbers Rossini ditched the suit to lounge ringside with fellow commentator Joseph Matthews for an action packed show.

Kicking off the night was a long overdue match between The Celtic Dragon, Mythil Woysek and the Problem Child Glen Rock-Moore. Mythil had been going to great lengths to teach Glen a lesson about messing with him, including takin gout a restraining order on Glen. But it all came down to this one match where Glen would have his shot to take down Mythil. But despite his best efforts, experience won out and Glen found himself tossed into a pool and pinned

The sibling rivalry continued as Stacy Grace made one last attempt to take the SLCW belt from her sister Rosalind at Six on the beach. However, Rosa once again put Stacy in her place and retained her title.

We were sure that when the naked female streaker hopped into the ring, Bret Braveheart would have lost all focus. But he managed not to drool too much and managed to get the win over Ace Nightfire

What was supposed to be a tag team match, turned into a 3-way brawl when Nicki Rockz was unable to make it to Siz on the Beach. Instead Ery Laerwen and Victoria Vain ganged up on Nicki’s Partner Heidih Himmel. Although at one point Vanity seemed to turn on Ery, leaving Ery a bit speechless...she managed to recover and Ery came out the victor!

The Main event was an Elimination Tag match between Jerico Scarbridge, Jeffery Fireguard, Sparky Von Qinworth and Ms. A Rae, also known as Supremacy and Team Deez Nuts, made up of SLCW Champion Voodoo Cooperstone, Cruiserweight Champion Razer Darkward, and suprise returnee Honey Bluntz, of course led by the World Champion, Bazza Windlow. At the start of the match, Voodoo Cooperstone was no where to be seen as the bell rang and Ms A Rae locked up with Honey Bluntz. As the eliminations continued, we later discovered that Voodoo had been knocked out and handcuffed to a locker backstage by an unknown person(s). He managed to break free and in a terrifying roar charged into the ring and took out everyone, narrowly managing not to knock out his teammates in a fit of rage. The fight continued outside the ring between all the members but it all came down to Bazza and Jerico as the last men standing. In the endBazza managed to get an exhausted pin over on jerico for the win.

And the set goes BOOM. Just seconds after the General Pietro Shelford emerged and started do to be a detonator in each hand. At the press of The general cashed in his contract. Despite a va Championship title from Bazza amidst the flame

Has Hannibal Returned? It was almost a year to the day at the 2012 Six on the Beach, where The General, Pietro Shelford was revealed to be the man behind the black masked terror Hannibal who was wreaking havoc on the DCWF with his violent tendencies. This year, it seems a bit of that man has returned to the make an appearnce as The General not only cashed in his contract and won the World Championship title from Bazza, but he blew up the entire stage in the process. We caught The General after his explosive match for a quick ringside interview:

Skylar: General, obviously it was a big surprise last year to find out that you were, in fact, Hannibal. Now this year, you had a different surprise... The General: Oh yes. I brought some of Hannibal back to the ring and wanted to make everyone take notice of me Skylar: So that’s why you decided to blow up the stage? The General: Exactly. To get noticed and it sure worked out better than I expected. I even won the World belt legitimately this time Skylar: Some people are saying that cashing in your contract on an already beaten up Bazza was not a legitimate way to win the championship. What do you say to that? The General: Well I say thats tough cookies. It is what the contract was for. How I used it is my own concern and it got me the belt. I am happy to take all the doubters in the ring to prove I am the best. Skylar: So will we be seeing more of the Hannibal side of you as you defend your title in the coming weeks? The General: You can bet on it. All the power is now mine and I intend to reek havoc everywhere I go. I have a couple people in my sights that I want to destroy Skylar: Care to name names? The General: A general will not divulge his tactics, but one will become evident in the next few weeks

WHat’ is Next for Bazza?

The Building tension between former D.O.A. partners Bazza Windlow and Jerico Scarbridge came to a head as Team Deez Nuts took on Supremacy in a brutal 4 on 4 elimination tag match in the Main event at Six on the Beach. Bazza was able to get the win by pinning Jerico after a hard fought battle, only to be challenged by The General as he cashed in his contract. Exhausted and suffering from cracked ribs and pulled muscles from his previous match, Bazza was unable to fend off the general. We had a chance to talk to Bazza as he was checked out by the trainers after the match: Skylar: Now after the incredible win that you and Team Deez Nuts pulled off...fans were shocked to see none other than the General Pietro Shelford standing at the top of the ramp with his contract in hand and blowing the stage to pieces...What went through your mind when you saw him? Bazza: To be fair i wasnt surprised it was the right time he is The General after all. Its using the same principles that are in the art of war. He picked the right time made sure I couldn’t get out. I put up a fight. I lost. He came out the better man on tonight. Skylar: Well it was a monumental effort you put forth...no doubt about that. So what is next for Bazza WIndlow? Bazza: Well as of tommorow, my full time contract expires with DCWF and I have it set to where I can wrestle part time and on a limited appearance schedule, allowing me to pursue other avenues. Who knows maybe i’ll go to check out japan. I’ve got some movie offers. Hell maybe i’ll go and join MMA. But one thing is for sure, you will not see the last of me in the squared circle. It maybe just wont be as often as of right now. Skylar: Well, we hope to see you back again soon and recovered from your injuries. Is there anything else you want to say to the fans? he GREAT ONE Speaks

errick Cult It was a little over week ago that ‘The Great Outlaw and his finishers, a variation on the One’ Derrick Cult was crowned the new VWE stunner known as the Lightsout and his Eye of International Champion, but he was a Legend the Tiger Driver. long before that. Though he began with a solid knowledge of The 36-year-old Houston, TX native had a long combat sports, Cult attributes much of his career in combat sports, before stepping foot experience in wrestling to his trainers. When into the professional wrestling ring. He began he first began wrestling in the SLCW, Paula by working his way up the ranks in Mixed Wilcox and Misaki Yumako were his first trainers Martial Arts (MMA) and Boxing. His incredible and he continues to learn from other great work ethic and dedication to training paid wrestlers to this day. He’s wrestled in a number off as he won every title on the grid in both of Federations including SLCW, MWA, VAW, sports, 5 titles in MMA and 5 titles in Boxing in BBW, RCW, and AHWF before finally settling as less than four years. Cult retired in 2008 as the one of the wrestling Legends at VWE as it was undisputed champion in MMA and boxing, just starting, and his breadth of experience in leaving at the top of his game to transition into multiple feds has only served to expand his the professional wrestling world as the SLCW repertoire and allowed him to innovate his was just getting off the ground. own moves. For Cult, making the change to pro wrestling was an easy choice. “I’m a huge wrestling fan. I grew up watching wrestling all my life and still do. What made me switch over is because of my love for Pro Wrestling. I devoted more of my time in Wrestling because I enjoyed the art and theatrics that is Pro Wrestling big baby.” At 6’7” and 240lbs, Cult seemed to be born to wrestle and his background in MMA and boxing influences his movements in the ring. His Southern and Strong Style is mixed with Muay Thai and classic elements of boxing to create a devastating combination of skills that sets him apart from his competitors. Anyone who has watched Cult wrestle will notice he favors using elbowstrikes for maximum damage like in the KO, his running discus elbow to opponents caught on the ropes, as well as his 5 Star Wing Attack elbowstrikes in the corner, and the Great One Shuffle; a move combining a rope a dope with an elbowstrike combo as well as multiple rolling elbow smash variations. Cult feels a certain obligation to help others in the same way that they have helped him throughout his career and has become one of the most sought after trainers in the business in addition to one of the most admired wrestlers of his time. and speechless. For years I’ve wrestled, but I’ve never been complimented by most workers like that.” With his capture of the International title, Cult became the third ever VWE Grand Slam Champion, cementing his place in the VWE history books. It seemed fitting that the match that inducted Cult into that elite group was against Benja, as he and Brakman Wilder are the only other two wrestlers in VWE history to win a Grand Slam Championship. Despite his accomplishments, Cult remains focused on his craft, saying he will “just keep doing what I do best, entertaining the people.” But there are a few people on Cult’s list of wrestlers throughout the feds that he would like to face in something to be truly admired. I’m honored to the ring before he hangs it up. Who is on that list have this person be in the VWE Alumni as he is and why? Well… always a shining star in an exceptional Roster.” 1. The common denominator here is ‘Strong baby.” After Cult’s win, fellow wrestler and trainee of Cult’s, Ashe Cuervo said, “It was a epic match between these two. Neither of them wanted to give up and at the end when Derrick won, it was just unreal because no one was expecting him to win. And at Experience of all places. Just shows you that anything can happen in the VWE. But what really made it a special moment is when Benja got on mic and presented Derrick with the title. Great show of respect there.” Cult stated that he was surprised and humbled by Benja’s impromptu speech after the match. “It was something I didn’t expect. I was shocked 13

Style’ and both he and I are Masters of it. I’ve trained with him, I’ve teamed with him, and I’ve faced him. But NOTHING was ever settled between us .. so Who’s better? Curt Bombastic or Derrick Cult? I say we find out so Hey ... If he ever wants a Match, He knows He how to Contact me, I’m not that hard to find, and I NEVER turn down a challenge.” Voodoo Cooperstone answered, “I have a lot of respect for Derrick, he is one of the original SLCW Wrestlers. He’s someone I look up to as far as talent, and ability. Just a nice guy outside the ring. But inside? He shows no mercy. I like that. I would graciously accept a challenge from him.” Bazza WIndlow agreed, “I would be honored to have the match and if he’s up for it we can set up a time and place and do it” and Ashe Cuervo excitedly stated, “Oh def. I would love to go toe to toe with Derrick. He taught me all that I know and I would love to see how I fair against my old master.” We can only hope that the opportunity arises where these inter-fed match ups can come to fruition because there’s no doubt they would be epic. Since winning the title, Derrick Cult has not rested on his laurels. Instead he continues to hone his skills in the gym and prepares to defend his newest title. He’s gone on an intensive training program and lost quite a bit of weight while toning up and getting stronger and faster in the ring. You might think a strict diet would have helped with that fat loss, but anyone who has spent time with Derrick Cult knows the man will never give up his cornbread, which he himself makes on a daily basis among other Texan dietary staples like Chili and BBQ. Cult loves to talk about and eat food, the hotter the better, to the point where his love affair with eating often sounds like he’s making food porn. We asked if he would share his secret cornbread recipe with our readers, and although he gave us a basic recipe (on the right), he wouldn’t give up his secret ingredients. “You got to innovate how you want your cornbread to be big baby” he says, but we have it on good authority that Cult likes hatch green chilies in his cornbread. When he’s not in the kitchen though, you’ll find ‘The Great One’ in the ring training himself or others on how to put on a great show for the fans. “All I got to say to workers in general is to work harder. Practicing is the key factor in this business. Learning and knowing is what make you a great worker. For the fans, thanks for the support you gave me. Without you people I wouldn’t be here. Thank you all for everything.”

Big Baby’s Cornbread 1/2 c butter 2/3 c white sugar 2 eggs 1 c buttermilk 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 c cornmeal 1 c all purpose flour 1/2 tsp salt

Innocence Lost at APW Harry Bedlam, the Metaverse Champion graciously arranged a children’s party for some of his younger fans, inviting them into the ring at APW a couple weeks ago. What was supposed to be a fun-filled celebration took a shocking turn when out of no where, Curt Bombastic barged in and attacked Harry with a sledgehammer infront of the traumatized children’s eyes. The attack was caught on a fan’s cameraphone as Bombastic made brutal swings for Harry’s knees with the sledgehammer while screaming at the kids to get out of the ring. Just as Bombastic put Harry in the Canadian Clutch Submission, a move no one has ever escaped from, Maven Gothly ran into the ring to save Harry and challenged Curt to a Cage match in September. In the meantime, we hope APW will be making Bombastic pay for those kids’ therapy.

The good, the bad, and the ugly of SL Wrestling fashion The new SLCW champ Nicki Rockz is a champion both in and out of the ring, rocking her own brand of killer style, fur coat and all, no wonder she teamed up with Heidih to form model behaviour Casual and relax, Voodoo spent his weekend watching other people dish out the pain, and deicded to wander around in his jeans and a t-shirt. Hope he had a good weekend, cause I am sure his break wont last long. Black is one of those colours no one can mess up. THE BEST It was a long time coming but when BigEvil makes a change...he goes BIG. Gone are the stompy boots, sleeveless shirts and even the old name and the new and improved Marvelous Maxwell Ryan is looking good with a sleek tailored suit and a new hairstyle that has all the ladies wanting to muss it up...in a good way.

SL WRESTLING MAKEOVERS The only thing we like less than seeing Jeni Porta coming out on stage with The Union is the green-haired, troll doll look she was sporting. Granted, this wasn’t by choice as Candy Tryce tricked her into this particular makeover, but it was enough to make the fans scream in horror and hilarity and to win her the worst makeover in SL Wrestling this month.

the he "All of you pathetic mortals out there...Beware. My Wrath Has Begun and I will come after YOU!" 'The Hellhound' Kevin Faust

Normally, a descent into hell would be considered a bad thing for the UHW, but ‘The Hellhound’ Kevin Faust is making sure it’ll be an interesting ride. This 7’2” beast of a man has been reining terror over the SL Wrestling community for the past 4 years, but only recently found his way to the UHW where he is quickly making a name for himself as one of the most dynamic wrestlers in the roster. Weighing in at a monstrous 323 lbs, this creature from the Underworld is certainly a terrifying sight, particularly with the unearthly flaming skull he carries into the ring each match. Faust’s wrestling career began at VWE, where he was trained by the legendary Adune ‘The Gavel’ Snowpaw and ‘The Great One’ Derrick Cult. According to Faust, he learned his timing and the proper way to ropeshoot from them, as well as gaining valuable insight into in-ring psychology; all skills that he carries forward into his matches (cont’d) even now. 23

ellhound Into the inferno with

(cont’d)

At VWE, ‘The Hellhound’ was a former European Champion and a two time Tag Team Champion. But Faust wanted to expand his reach beyond the walls of the VWE arena and so he went joined the UHW to find some fresh meat. Although he was a rookie at UHW for some time while he also wrestled at VWE, he recently decided to wrestle exclusively for UHW in July 2013 and is determined to show the UHW wrestlers and fans his path of destruction on his way to a title. Not many would dare step into that path either. Manager and Commentator Nick Patrick Halderman said, “yeah... the dude scares me... that flaming skull he carries smells like burnt toast but he’s very good in the ring and not easy for anyone to defeat.” Those who do face Faust in the ring will have to contend with the sheer size and strength advantage he possesses as well as his powerhouse and brawling wrestling styles designed to literally, beat the hell out of you.

Seeing ‘The Hellhound’ in the ring is a jaw dropping experience for both wrestlers and fans, but Faust embraces the fear he inspires in people. “I am the Hellhound. I love when they feel my Wrath and pain. Indeed, I am a Monster you don’t want to mess with.” The Hellhound’s brutality in the squared circle is unsurpassed and he has the skills to prove it. Some of his signature moves include the Devil’s Claw Spinebuster, the Hellrise (a vicious high-knee maneuver) and the Gate Keeper (a brutal combo assault leading into a figure four leg lock). And of course, no battle would be complete without seeing the Hellhound’s finishers, the Descent To Hell, a variation on the double underhook facebuster and The

Inferno, where he heaves his opponent up over his head in a gorilla press only to destroy him with a three quarters cutter.

Faust has faced many opponents in the ring, though one of his biggest rivals remains ‘The Churchboy’ Vince Easterwood, the UHW’s current Men’s Champion. In a true Good vs. Evil matchup, The Hellhound has repeatedly tried to steal a victory from Vince, but alas, someone is looking out for Vince as the Hellhound has not yet succeeded. Vince Easterwood told us, “He thought he could mess with my friends, especially my wife, but he failed at his goal twice trying to get my title.” But Faust isn’t one to give up easily. “I want to show him that Holy Path is not the Right Path.” So,what is the Right Path? According to Faust it is “The Path of Destruction. Armagaddon. The Apocalypse. The Path of Hell.” Beating the Churchboy isn’t all that Faust has planned though. “My goal is to Dominate the uHw. To get everyone to fear me, even The Fangs or Fateweavers. As I said, My Wrath Has Begun.” While there are many individuals that Faust would like to go after and he does have his eye on winning a belt, he is waiting for a true Challenge. Will someone brave the blood and fire to come face to face with The Hellhound? Only time will tell, but rumor has it that one of the names on The Hellhound’s list or wrestlers to drag into the Underworld is none other than Maven Gothly. What should we expect from ‘The Hellhoound’ in the future? “Expect brutality and domination of the Fed. The Hellhound has been unleashed and will rise and reign over UHW.” 24
