Modular Rooflights Product Selector and Range Summary 15
Natural daylight significantly improves the internal environment of a building and can reduce energy costs. To function effectively, buildings must have appropriate, adequate lighting, subject to the guidance and limitations set out in the current Building Regulations (Part L - England and Wales, Regulation 22 Part J - Scotland). Rooflights are the ideal way to provide good natural lighting.
Natural Daylight ■ Improves concentration ■ Leads to better productivity ■ Creates better quality environments for people

Flat Roofing & Waterproofing Systems Daylighting Systems Modular Rooflights Alumasc A Range
Alumasc A Range – Superior Modular Rooflights Alumasc A Range are superior modular dome rooflights providing high levels of security and waterproofing. The ‘lock-bolt’ security system means installation of the rooflight is straightforward, precise and secure. Removal of the glazing can only be achieved with the use of a ‘lock-bolt’ security opening device.
Key Benefits ■ Maximum security dome rooflight ■ Smooth clean appearance ■ Lock-bolt security system ■ Complete waterproof integrity with the roofing membrane ■ High performance insulated kerb
The aluminium reinforced rigid PVC-U frame gives a clean and smooth finish, greatly enhancing the aesthetics of the rooflight. The PVC-U frame also conceals all the fixings of the unit, acting as a deterrent to the opportunistic intruder.
New kerb for fast efficient installation
Thermal Properties
Unique to the flat roofing market, the Alumasc kerb is designed to allow roof coverings to be terminated horizontally at the upper edge of the kerb wall. This practice improves the weathering detail of the rooflight.

Alumasc A Range will not compromise the waterproofing of the roof because the kerb has been designed to allow the roof covering to terminate horizontally on the upper edge of the kerb wall. The waterproofing membrane is clamped into place by the ‘lock-bolt’ security system once the glazing is attached to the kerb. The attractive design of Alumasc A Range rooflights integrates well with any flat roof membrane system. The white internal finish of the kerb means the rooflight blends with any interior décor. Alumasc A Range rooflights are available in a curved dome or pyramid profile and in a wide range of sizes. A full range of ventilation options is also available. Alumasc A Range is particularly suited to applications such as schools, hospitals, sports and leisure centres, offices and other buildings where security is of particular concern.

Horizontal membrane termination The roofing membrane, when brought over the top edge of the kerb, is secured by the ‘lock-bolt’ security system, making water ingress virtually impossible.
Superb impact resistance The polycarbonate glazing has an impact resistance almost 200 times that of glass, creating a very safe rooflight option. It has co-extruded UV protection and eliminates 98% of harmful radiation.
8
Smooth appearance The PVC-U frame with aluminium reinforcement conceals all fixings creating a smooth, clean appearance.
Flat Roofing & Waterproofing Systems Daylighting Systems Modular Rooflights Alumasc B Range
Alumasc B Range – Standard Modular Rooflights Alumasc B Range are regular modular dome rooflights distinguished by their speed and accuracy of installation on flat roofs. The ‘lock-bolt’ security system means less time is required to fix the rooflight to the structure. The fixings required for installation are supplied pre-fitted to the glazing.
Key Benefits ■ High security dome rooflight ■ Lock-bolt security system ■ Designed for horizontal membrane finish ■ Polycarbonate impact resistant glazing ■ High performance insulated kerb
The factory fitted security caps on Alumasc B Range encase each of the fixings, offering more reliable waterproofing and reducing the likelihood of forced entry through the rooflight. Superior thermal insulation is achieved by the combined properties of the cellular PVC kerb and double or triple skin polycarbonate glazing.

Alumasc B Range has exceptional waterproofing integrity. Water ingress is virtually impossible as the waterproofing membrane can be applied to the full height of the kerb and terminated horizontally. When the glazing is fitted to the kerb using the ‘lock-bolt’ security system the waterproofing membrane is secured firmly in place. Alumasc B Range rooflights are available in a curved dome or pyramid profile and in a wide range of sizes. A complete range of ventilation options is also available. Alumasc B Range is suited to applications such as schools, hospitals, sports and leisure centres, private houses, offices and other heated buildings where insulation, weatherability and security are important factors.
