OUR HISTORY OUR TIMELINE
1962 Ski instructor Rod Slifer starts selling real estate, becoming Vail’s first ever real estate agent.
1988 Harry Frampton and Mark Smith open Frampton Smith Real Estate, concentrating on the newly-formed Beaver Creek market. Just a few months later, Frampton Smith Real Estate joins forces with Vail’s Slifer & Co to form Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate.
1977 Joel Ripmaster opens Colorado Landmark Realtors, focusing on Boulder and the Front Range markets.
2004 We expand our presence beyond the Vail Valley for the first time, opening offices in Summit County to serve a whole new set of mountain communities.
1986 Harry Frampton and Mark Smith form East West Partners, the development group behind Beaver Creek Resort.
1968 As Vail grows, Rod Slifer opens his own brokerage, Slifer & Company, on Bridge Street.
1994
The two top dueling powers of Vail Valley real estate, Slifer Smith & Frampton and Vail Associates Real Estate, merge, forming Slifer Smith & Frampton / Vail Associates Real Estate. The shortened version of the name remains today.
2021 2019 We acquire Palladium Properties, expanding our territory into Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley.
We appoint a new CEO to oversee company-wide operations, and market presidents for each of our markets: one in the Vail Valley, Summit County, Roaring Fork Valley and Denver. This management change brings us even closer to our customers and communities.
2023 We expand to Steamboat and the Yampa Valley to serve as the brokerage behind a substantial expansion of the base village and the communities that surround.

We join Forbes Global Properties as a founding member, leveraging the audience and worldwide reach of Forbes to showcase Colorado’s finest homes and the stories behind them.
We acquire Colorado Landmark Realtors, a legendary Boulder Valley brokerage, solidifying our reach across the Front Range of Colorado.
2015 Krista Klees, Aspen real estate titan, opens boutique firm Palladium Properties, which expands to three offices in the Roaring Fork Valley. OUR HISTORY
