Footnotes: Angie Carrasco hails from New Jersey and is a 2012 graduate of Washington Adventist University where she majored in political studies with a pre-law emphasis. She is currently a first-year law student at Howard University School of Law. Angie loves to run and while at WAU was captain of the women’s cross country team. Vincent Ganta is currently a junior at Takoma Academy. He plays the trumpet in the TA band. His aim is to become a medical doctor. Arthur Ganta has been a member of Sligo SDA Church since 1987. He currently serves on the Board of Sligo School and on the Finance Committee for Sligo Church. April Henline actually sang “It Is Well” at Sligo for the first time in 1988, while still a vocal student of Jon Gilbertson at Columbia Union College. She went on to finish her vocal degree at Southern University in 1991. We’re happy to have her singing at Sligo again this morning. David Koilpillai has been a member of Sligo for more than 40 years. He is a product of Adventist education from Sligo School, Takoma Academy, and Columbia Union College and also a graduate of The University of Maryland Dental School. He is currently in private practice in Laurel, Maryland.

School divisions will be participating in a special program September 22, 2012 during the Adult Sabbath School time. We want to encourage all parents to bring your children on time that Sabbath because they will be participating in the program.

high-school aged youth to our Youth Parent Night on September 28 at 6 p.m. At this meeting you will receive information about our Friday programs, our socials, and our outreaches throughout the year. This is also a great time for you to meet our Youth Pastor and our SYD leaders.
Awakening Festival: Join us on September 29 at 2 p.m.
for our first youth social of the year to Awakening Christian Music Festival in Middleburg, VA.
