Welcome to Sligo. There is a very familiar proverb that says, ‘home is where the heart is.’ Although there is really April 14, Saturday no clear indication of its origin, this very popular and widely used saying is one that I’m sure has resonated Young Adults GLOW, Memorial Chapel, 9:30 a.m. with many of us throughout our lives. Whenever this RESET, Memorial Chapel, 5:00 p.m. proverb is used, the sentiment that is being expressed April 15, Sunday can mean either one of two things. The first is that regardless of where someone has grown up, the place they call home is with those whom WGTS Family Fun Festival, WAU Commons, 12:00 p.m. they love and cherish dearly. Home for them is with the people as well April 16, Monday as the place they care for most. But then it can also mean that their heart is always with their home, wherever home for them happens Regeneration Ministries, Office Conference Room, 7:30 p.m. to be. This weekend as we celebrate the Homecoming of our sister institution, Washington Adventist University, I can say with confidence April 18, Wednesday that for many of you who have returned to this campus this weekend, Prayer Gathering, Sanctuary, 7:00 p.m. WAU is a place that you can honestly call home. And we are pleased Sanctuary Choir Rehearsal, Choir Room, 8:00 p.m. to welcome home as our speaker for this Homecoming Sabbath, Dave Weigley, as he shares with us a message titled, “Alone.” - Charles A. Tapp

• The Bible is the inspired word of God and our only rule of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17). • Jesus Christ is the Divine Son of God and our personal Savior from sin by grace through faith. (John 1:1-3; Ephesians 2:8). • Having been saved, followers of Jesus live in obedience to Him by observing the Ten Commandments. OUR LIFE TOGETHER

sabbath devotional

“Being a Christian is less about cautiously avoiding sin than about courageously and actively doing God’s will.” - Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Sligo Church has had a tradition of periodically having a yearbook done. The last one was done in 2012/2013. In years to come these will prove to be important keepsakes for our present and future members. LifeTouch has undertaken the task of creating a yearbook for us for 2018 and has scheduled the following dates for photographs to be taken: April 22 - April 25; April 29 May 2. (Sundays, 11 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. & Mon. - Wed., 2:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.) Pick up a LifeTouch brochure at a Welcome Desk in the Atrium or Foyer for more information and to schedule your appointment as instructed. You can also sign up for an appointment in the Atrium. The Potomac Conference MID-TERM CONSTITUENCY report is now available via video. You may view the departmental reports at your leisure by logging onto the conference website at: pcsda.org. Today’s Sanctuary flowers are provided by Washington Adventist University in celebration of Alumni Weekend. Family Fun Festival will be held tomorrow, April 15, from Noon to 5:00 p.m., on the campus of Washington Adventist University. This annual event is free to the public and features live music, food and family entertainment. Prayer Gathering 2018! Join us in the Sanctuary at 7:00 p.m. each Wednesday evening for engaging study and transformative times of prayer.
