welcome

Welcome to Sligo. In case you haven’t noticed, there has been a great deal of reporting in the news recently surrounding the attacks of those who comprise various February 13, Saturday segments of our society here in America. Some have been physically attacked, because of the color of their Young Adults GLOW, Memorial Chapel, 9:30 a.m. skin, by those who feel threatened. Others have been Sligo Underground, Youth Room, 11:00 a.m. victims of verbal attacks, which have exposed the Children’s Choir Rehearsal, Choir Room, 1:30 p.m. harsh sentiment that they are no longer wanted or needed here. Homeless Ministry, Discipleship Room, 2:00 p.m. And yes, many in our communities are being attacked by the very Nightfall, Atrium Suite, 7:00 p.m. ones who have sworn to serve and protect these communities. But as egregious as these attacks are, they are simply symptomatic of a February 14, Sunday greater problem. It is a problem that has resulted from an attack that Adrian Westney Piano Concert, Atrium Suite, 3:00 p.m. has been forged against the community which God himself created the community of mankind. And although for the most part man has been the recipient, the attack has been largely the result of an attack February 15, Monday, President’s Day Holiday on the image of God that is within us. Today as we continue our series Church Office will be closed on community, we get to the heart of the nature of this attack in our Regeneration Ministries, Office Conference Room, 7:30 p.m. message, “Attack on Community.” February 17, Wednesday - Charles A. sabbath devotional

“As the church, we are in community together trying to fulfill this Great Commission that Jesus left us with. As we gently press into each other, we form one united thing, His church. As we work together, sharing the space God gives us to do His work, we all become shaped a little different. We all become a little more like Him.” - Jennifer Lane, Faith Adventures: Stories of Learning with an Unseen God
