The General Conference (GC) of Seventh-day Adventists Office of General Counsel is seeking a law student for an 8-10 week summer clerkship. This position is not a full-time, hire-track position and would be best suited for 1Ls. Ideal candidates would be in the top 25% of their class. Duties will include legal research and other projects with an emphasis on religious liberty and First Amendment work. It is the policy of the GC to hire only Adventist church members. Wecome to our 2017 Pathfinder Sabbath. The Challengers Pathfinder Club is a ministry whose history at Sligo Church spans over six decades. Building young January 21, Saturday leaders in preparation for leadership in the church Young Adults GLOW, Memorial Chapel, 9:30 a.m. and community is one of the primary objectives of the Pathfinder ministry. Leadership plays a significant role, January 22, Sunday in conjunction with parents, in instilling into each Pathfinder a love for Pathfinder Meeting, Office Chapel, 9:00 a.m.

Matthew Dulcich is currently a Junior at Takoma Academy. He is working on his Master Guide requirements, and is a 3rd Year TLT. He is a member of the Fancy Drill Team. He enjoys camping and soccer.

Madison Evans is a 6th grade student at Sligo Adventist school. She is a principal’s list recipient. Madison is a member of the middle school choir, band, and basketball team, who enjoys singing and acting.

Iria Hauffen is an 8th grade student at Eastern Middle School. In her spare time, she likes to sing and read.

Washington Adventist University (WAU) will be concluding their Week In Spiritual Emphasis with a sermon from James Thomas titled, “True Identity,” which will show how different we truly are and how important it is for each one of us to discover our true identity. Music will be provided by James Williams for 1st service. Columbia Collegiate Chorale and the New England Youth Ensemble of Washington Adventist University will provide music for 2nd service.

Jonathan and Joseph Pelote are 5th graders at Sligo Adventist School. They are active at their school in bible study, music and sports. They currently play on Sligo Church’s pony basketball team.

Youth Parent Meeting (Parents with children aged 14 to 17): The Sligo Youth Department invites you to a Youth Parent Meeting this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Youth Room. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for parents to meet the SYD leaders who will be helping to teach your youth this year, as well as join youth leaders in praying for the upcoming year. The meeting will also include details of our youth calendar for the coming year, but we especially want to hear from parents and how we as a Youth Department can best communicate with you.
