I’m sure that you are familiar with the adage, “You can’t judge a book by its cover.” The same can be said for its size as well. Today, we come to the end of our series on the book of Haggai, “Hope for Trying Times.” Although the book of Haggai is extremely small in size, containing only two chapters totalling a mere thirty-eight verses, its message certainly is not. For God’s message to the prophet for these former exiles was one that not only instilled a sense of hope in the hearts of the people, it also challenged them to undergo a “change” of heart. This is a lesson that was not only pertinent for them, it is one that is especially important to believers in these last days as we prepare to face some “trying times” of our own. I pray that as a result of our worship experience today, your heart will not only be filled with this hope, but that you will also be willing to undergo the change that God desires to make “in” your heart.
