welcome

Welcome to Sligo. Some time ago, I shared with the Sligo family an exercise that I give to my students in July 1, Saturday my class on prayer. The first thing I have each student Young Adults GLOW, Memorial Chapel, 9:30 a.m. do on the very first day is to compose, in their own words, their personal philosophy on prayer. In other July 2, Sunday words, I want them to tell me what they believe this thing called prayer is all about. I’m sure that some of you may feel Exercise Class, Office Chapel, 9:00 a.m. that this is a simple task, but honestly, if you were asked to complete July 3, Monday this assignment, could you clearly articulate, in your own words, what prayer is really all about? Although prayer may be at the core of what Regeneration Ministries, Office Conference Room, 7:30 p.m. it means to be a Christian, I dare say that many Christians, if not July 4, Tuesday, Independence Day Holiday most, don’t have a real handle on the subject. And for those that do, in many cases it is purely academic in nature. Today we begin a series Church Office is closed on the Lord’s Prayer titled, Teach Us to Pray, that I hope will not only provide us with a better understanding of this mysterious ritual, but July 5, Wednesday also afford us greater insights into the character and nature of God.
