Welcome to Sligo Church. What comes to mind when you hear the word community? Is it a group of people that are brought together by like minds and June 13, Sabbath similar interests or is it the feeling of fellowship they Greeters Meeting, Place TBD, 1:30 p.m. experience? When I hear the word community, I think Homeless Ministry, Discipleship Room, 2:30 p.m. of the church, because not only does it represent the June 14, Sunday place where people of common interests are brought together, but it is also where they can experience this unique feeling of commonalSligo Youth Yard Sale and Car Wash, Sligo SDA School, ity that in many ways is difficult to articulate with words. And in my 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. opinion there is no more powerful opportunity for these dimensions of community to be experienced by us as believers than when we come June 15, Monday together to celebrate the ordinance of the Holy Communion. Whenever Regeneration Ministries, Office Conference Room, 7:30 p.m. we as believers respond to the call to come to the Lord’s Table to parJune 17, Wednesday take in the sacred emblems, there is a sense of closeness and unity that in many cases is greater than those who are joined by the bond Prayer Gathering, Sanctuary, 7:00 p.m. of blood. But in a very real sense, we too are joined by the bond of (or by phone: 949.229.4400 Pin:4997774#, 7:35 p.m.) the shed blood of Jesus so that we, the community of believers, might Sanctuary Choir Rehearsal, Choir Room, 7:30 p.m. experience true community.
