In years to come these will prove to be important keepsakes for our present and future members. LifeTouch has undertaken the task of creating a yearbook for us for 2018 and has scheduled the following dates for photographs to be taken: Sunday, June 24 and Monday, June 25. Sign up for an appointment at <http:// sligochurch.org/> You can also sign up in the Atrium. Atrium signups are not confirmed until you have been notified by LifeTouch.

Summary of our Beliefs • The Bible is the inspired word of God and our only rule of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17). • Jesus Christ is the Divine Son of God and our personal Savior from sin by grace through faith. (John 1:1-3; Ephesians 2:8). • Having been saved, followers of Jesus live in obedience to Him by observing the Ten Commandments. (Exodus 20: 1-17; John 14:15). • The Sabbath – the seventh day of the week- established by God at creation and honored by Jesus in His earthly ministry, is to be observed by the followers of Jesus. (Exodus 20:8-11; 1 Peter 2:21). • Jesus is coming back to earth personally and visibly to raise the righteous dead and give His faithful children of all ages immortality in an earth made new. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 22:12; 21:1-3). • Our love for God is demonstrated primarily by our love for our fellowmen. (1 John 4:20; Matthew 25:34-40).

June 3

Welcome to Sligo today. Have you ever wondered what our lives would be like if we lived in a world where there were no standards? As children, our parents drilled into us that we were to have high standards especially when it came to choosing our friends. It’s not that they were trying to teach us that we were somehow better than everyone else, but it was their way of protecting us from creating a life that we would later come to regret. You see my parents recognized that without high standards in our lives we would settle for less than what God intended and thereby fail to reach our God-given potential. Think about it for a moment. Can you imagine a job where there were no clear standards when it came to the hours you would be required to work each day? Some would work long enough to get the job done, while others, I’m sure, would only give minimum effort. But what about when it comes to the standards that God has set for his people? Does he expect us to exceed his expectations or is he satisfied merely with the fact that we are willing to put forth the effort? - Charles A. Tapp
