Sligo Church has had a tradition of periodically having a yearbook done. The last one was done in 2012/2013. In years to come these will prove to be important keepsakes for our present and future members. LifeTouch has undertaken the task of creating a yearbook for us for 2018 and has scheduled the following dates for photographs to be taken: April 8-11/12; April 22-25/26; April 29-May 2/3. Pick up a LifeTouch brochure at a Welcome Desk in the Atrium or Foyer for more information and to schedule your appointment. Spanish Sabbath School Clase en español: La clase de Escuela Sabática en español se ha estado reuniendo en la parte izquierda del balcón del santuario, desde diciembre. El Hno. Join us each Wednesday evening as Pastor Tapp takes us on a life-changing journey in learning how to hear the voice of God. Our resource for this series is the book, WHISPER, by Mark Batterson. We will be looking at Chapter 11, “Joystick - Pain” Ride-Sharing - As we continue to develop the concept of community here at Sligo, we are looking for members who are willing to assist other members by transporting them to church on Sabbaths. Some of our members are not mobile and would welcome the joy of worshiping with fellow believers on a Sabbath morning. Please indicate on a pew card your willingness to be of service in this ministry of love and place the card in the offering plate. Sunset: Sabbath celebration ends today at 7:24 p.m. and commences on Friday, March 30 at 7:29 p.m. *Consent To Use Photographic Images: Sligo SDA Church films all worship services. welcome Welcome to Sligo. I suffered from being an asthmatic when I was young. Whenever I experienced an attack, it caused me not only to miss several days of school, it also resulted in a severe loss of appetite, leading to weight loss. So, for most of my youth I was not only small in stature, I had a scrawny physique as well. But one day I read an article that changed my life forever. It was about a world-class bodybuilder, who as a child also suffered from asthma. Everything changed for him when he started working out and lifting weights, which not only strengthened his body but also transformed the way he looked. I no longer lift weights, but the positive effect that weight-lifting had on my body is felt to this day. Just as with the person who lifts weights, God has provided a way to strengthen His body, the church, and if we would adhere to it with the same commitment and discipline as a bodybuilder, it would result in the church becoming a stronger body that would not only bring glory to God, but also serve as a witness to the world. - Charles A. Tapp
