Welcome to Sligo today. Has there been a time in your life when you wanted to improve in a certain area, such as better performance on the job, getting a better November 11, Saturday grade in a particular class, or maybe even learning a Young Adults GLOW, Memorial Chapel, 9:30 a.m. language that is foreign to your own? You then went to an expert in the relevant field for guidance and November 12, Sunday instruction and when he or she shared with you what would be required to reach your goal, you came to the conclusion Exercise Class, Office Chapel, 9:00 a.m. that the demands were just too difficult. It’s not that you were November 13, Monday unappreciative of their advice; after all, they are experts in their field. But the challenge for you was that once you came to the realization Recovery Ministry, Office Conference Room, 7:30 p.m. of the demands that were going to be placed upon your time and November 15, Wednesday possibly your finances, you decided that you would rather throw up your hands in defeat and walk away instead of hanging on to your Prayer Gathering, Sanctuary, 7:00 p.m. dreams. But what about the dream that you had in becoming a Sanctuary Choir Rehearsal, Choir Room, 8:00 p.m. disciple of Christ and all the responsibilities that come along with it? Is there ever a time when the demands of being a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ can become too demanding? - Charles A. Tapp

Summary of our Beliefs • The Bible is the inspired word of God and our only rule of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17). • Jesus Christ is the Divine Son of God and our personal Savior from sin by grace through faith. (John 1:1-3; Ephesians 2:8). • Having been saved, followers of Jesus live in obedience to Him by observing the Ten Commandments. (Exodus 20: 1-17; John 14:15). • The Sabbath – the seventh day of the week- established by God at creation and honored by Jesus in His earthly ministry, is to be observed by the followers of Jesus. (Exodus 20:8-11; 1 Peter 2:21). • Jesus is coming back to earth personally and visibly to raise the righteous dead and give His faithful children of all ages immortality in an earth made new. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 22:12; 21:1-3). • Our love for God is demonstrated primarily by our love for our fellowmen. (1 John 4:20; Matthew 25:34-40).

“I wish that saints would cling to Christ half as earnestly as sinners cling to the devil. If we were as willing to suffer for God as some are willing to suffer for their lusts, what perseverance and zeal would be seen on all sides!” – Charles Spurgeon
