welcome
Welcome to Sligo Church. Have you ever noticed that nowadays we live in a culture where it seems that just about everyone wants to be rewarded for even November 22, Sabbath the smallest of deeds performed, and that includes Aeolians Choir Concert, Sanctuary, 6:00 p.m. followers of Christ as well? We are constantly hearing of stories where someone returns a lost item to its November 24, Monday rightful owner, not necessarily because it’s the “right” thing to do, Regeneration Ministries, Office Conference Room, 7:00 p.m. but rather with the hope that there will be some tangible gift given as Administrative Board Meeting is cancelled a way to reward them for their “act of kindness.” Today’s message, November 26, Wednesday The Reward of Faith, concludes our sermon series titled “We’ve Come Prayer Gathering, Sanctuary, 7:00 p.m. THIS Far by Faith”. Can you imagine what it would be like to receive a (or by phone: 949.229.4400 Pin:4997774#, 7:35 p.m.) reward from God? But more importantly, what would we as believers Knitting Ministry, Discipleship Room, 7:00 p.m. need to do to ensure that we would receive it? When God promises to Sanctuary Choir Rehearsal, Choir Room, 7:30 p.m. reward our faith in Hebrews 11:6, have you noticed that the writer to the Hebrews has conveniently omitted any clue as to what that reward November 26, Thursday & November 27, Friday might possibly be? But regardless of the nature of the reward, if it Church office will be closed comes from God, then it would have to be out of this world, right? - Charles A. Tapp

Summary of our Beliefs
• The Bible is the inspired word of God and our only rule of
faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17). • Jesus Christ is the Divine Son of God and our personal Savior from sin by grace through faith. (John 1:1-3; Ephesians 2:8). • Having been saved, followers of Jesus live in obedience to Him by observing the Ten Commandments. (Exodus 20: 1-17; John 14:15). • The Sabbath – the seventh day of the week- established by God at creation and honored by Jesus in His earthly ministry, is to be observed by the followers of Jesus. (Exodus 20:8-11; 1 Peter 2:21). • Jesus is coming back to earth personally and visibly to raise the righteous dead and give His faithful children of all ages immortality in an earth made new. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 22:12; 21:1-3). • Our love for God is demonstrated primarily by our love for our fellowmen. (1 John 4:20; Matthew 25:34-40)
