ANNOUNCEMENTS (continued) Church Budget Target – Our profile of giving shows that we are $47,000 down on budget. If the church is to meet all its ongoing financial obligations and support its many nurture and outreach ministries, it is essential that we reach our budget target by the end of the year. We can do this by increasing our contributions to the church budget and, where we have not been in the habit of giving, start to honor God with our tithe and offerings. Increasing our contributions to the church budget by even 20% would significantly increase income and take us to our budget target. Beyond supporting our church, our offerings are our response of love to God’s blessings and goodness.

BUDGET FOR OCTOBER 5 YTD:
In today’s culture, the concept of love is one that in my opinion has become extremely perverted, or at the very least severely distorted. In many cases the idea of love has either been relegated to an emotion that is expressed by those who are viewed by the masses as being “soft” or weak, or simply as a physical act that is driven more by feelings than principle. Even within the church, the idea of love can at times be so narrow that it is void of any human emotion. But with all that we know about love, could it be that there remains a dimension that few have failed to consider and even fewer are willing to put into practice? In my message today, Love Works, we will examine this other dimension through the story of the prophet Hosea in the hope that we will embrace the idea of love as never before.
Summary of our Beliefs • The Bible is the inspired word of God and our only rule of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17). • Jesus Christ is the Divine Son of God and our personal Savior from sin by grace through faith. (John 1:1-3; Ephesians 2:8). • Having been saved, followers of Jesus live in obedience to Him by observing the Ten Commandments. (Exodus 20: 1-17; John 14:15). • The Sabbath – the seventh day of the week- established by God at creation and honored by Jesus in His earthly ministry, is to be observed by the followers of Jesus. (Exodus 20:8-11; 1 Peter 2:21). • Jesus is coming back to earth personally and visibly to raise the righteous dead and give His faithful children of all ages immortality in an earth made new. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 22:12; 21:1-3). • Our love for God is demonstrated primarily by our love for our fellowmen. (1 John 4:20; Matthew 25:34-40)
