sabbath devotional

Were the whole realm of nature mine, That were a present far too small; Love so amazing, so divine, Demands my soul, my life, my all. - Isaac Watts, When I Survey the Wondrous Cross

October is Pastor Appreciation Month. We can thank God that in His providence He has assembled a pastoral staff for Sligo Church that is international in scope, and represents more years of experience than most of us have been alive. And while we’re thanking God, let’s not forget to thank our pastors for their dedicated service with a hug, a note, or some other expression of appreciation. TODAY Adventist writer, Ruthie Jacobsen, author of twelve books including, The Difference is Prayer, will share how God works in our lives, in our church and in our Homes of Hope. Join us in Sligo Church’s Memorial Chapel this afternoon, October 31, from 4:00 -- 6:00 p.m. as we discuss how to effectively prepare for soul winning in 2016. Fall back! Daylight Saving Time ends and Standard Time begins at 2:00 a.m. tomorrow, November 1. Please remember to turn your clocks back one hour. Sligo Women’s Ministries Book Club will meet on Wednesday, November 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Discipleship Room to discuss “Absence of Mind“ by Marilynne Robinson.
