Welcome to Sligo today. One of the most challenging messages that many a preacher is reluctant to share, and in just as many cases, the parishioner is reluctant to October 8, Saturday hear, is a message on the subject of “giving.” What is it Young Adults GLOW, Memorial Chapel, 9:30 a.m. about this word that when uttered from the pastor’s lips causes many church members to cringe? Could it be October 10, Monday that the word “giving” for some of us is synonymous with money? And Regeneration Ministries, Office Conference Room, 7:30 p.m. if there is one thing people in our culture hold dear, it is definitely their hard earned money. If we confine giving to the category of money, October 12, Wednesday we have done our church, the community we’ve been called to serve Prayer Gathering, Sanctuary, 7:00 p.m. and our God a grave disservice. Yes, giving can be related to money, (or by phone: 949.229.4400 Pin:4997774#, 7:35 p.m.) but it transcends money. The concept of giving, when placed in light of the gospel, is the very foundation of the gospel. You see, giving October 13, Thursday is not about what you have in your hand, but rather it’s more about Exercise Class, Office Chapel, 6:30 p.m. what you have in your heart. And if that is the case, and I believe it is, then at the heart of the message of Christianity is the gospel of giving. - Charles A. Tapp

sabbath devotional

“As base a thing as money often is, yet it can be transmuted into everlasting treasure. It can be converted into food for the hungry and clothing for the poor. It can keep a missionary actively winning lost men to the light of the gospel and thus transmute itself into heavenly values. Any temporal possession can be turned into everlasting wealth. Whatever is given to Christ is immediately touched with immortality.” ” - A.W. Tozer
