ANNOUNCEMENTS (continued)
welcome
Welcome to Sligo Church. I’m sure that most of you can remember a time when the service that you received, either in a restaurant, your favorite September 12, Saturday department store, and, yes, even the church, was not quite what you expected. It seems as though some Young Adults GLOW (God Lighting Our World), of the niceties that we once took for granted have Memorial Chapel, 9:30 a.m. become a thing of the past. For me, there is nothing September 14, Monday more insulting as well as disturbing than to be treated poorly by someone who, based on the very nature of his or her job, is paid to provide Regeneration Ministries, Office Conference Room, 7:30 p.m. good service, whether deserving or not. But when you think about it, September 16, Wednesday doesn’t everyone deserve to be served and to be served well? As we pause today to celebrate the Holy Communion, our focus will not just Prayer Gathering, Sanctuary, 7:00 p.m. be on the symbols that represent the broken body and spilled blood of (or by phone: 949.229.4400 Pin:4997774#, 7:35 p.m.) Sanctuary Christ, but on another symbol. It is the powerful symbol of service that reminds us each time we partake of this celebration, the God we serve September 17, Thursday is a God who was willing to become one of us, not that He might rule Exercise Class, Memorial Chapel, 6:30 p.m. over us, but that He might demonstrate what true service is really all about. Let us hear from you! To write the pastors a note, make a prayer request, or inquire about becoming a member of Sligo Church, please use a card from the hymnal rack.
