welcome
Welcome to Sligo Church. As a child I had many questions that for the most part I would always go to my father for the answers. Like the time I asked September 26, Saturday him where babies came from and he responded as Young Adults GLOW (God Lighting Our World), thoughtfully as he could with, “Babies come from Memorial Chapel, 9:30 a.m. God.” Well, of course you know what my next question was going to be. You’re right, I asked him, “But then Sligo Underground, Youth Room, 11:00 a.m. where does God come from?” I was around eight at the time I asked Children’s Choir Rehearsal, Choir Room, 1:15 p.m. that question and although it has been decades since, I am still National Christian Choir Concert, Sanctuary, 6:00 p.m. waiting on the answer. But despite the fact I am now an adult and in ministry for over thirty years, I still have some of those same kinds of September 27, Sunday questions, especially as they relate to the nature and origin of God. PCSDA Second Quinquennial Constituency Meeting, And what is so interesting is that I am not alone. There are many, Sanctuary, 10:00 a.m. including some Christians, who although they believe in God, when questioned are not able to articulate why. Today, I begin a five part September 28, Monday series called, “WHY I…,” as I attempt to explore the reasons why I Regeneration Ministries, Office Conference Room, 7:30 p.m. believe in God, the Bible, Jesus, Christianity and Adventism. - Charles A. Tapp September 30, Wednesday Prayer Gathering, Sanctuary, 7:00 p.m. (or by phone: 949.229.4400 Pin:4997774#, 7:35 p.m.)

Summary of our Beliefs
• The Bible is the inspired word of God and our only rule of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17). • Jesus Christ is the Divine Son of God and our personal Savior from sin by grace through faith. (John 1:1-3; Ephesians 2:8). • Having been saved, followers of Jesus live in obedience to Him by observing the Ten Commandments. (Exodus 20: 1-17; John 14:15). • The Sabbath – the seventh day of the week- established by God at creation and honored by Jesus in His earthly ministry, is to be observed by the followers of Jesus. (Exodus 20:8-11; 1 Peter 2:21). • Jesus is coming back to earth personally and visibly to raise the righteous dead and give His faithful children of all ages immortality in an earth made new. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 22:12; 21:1-3). • Our love for God is demonstrated primarily by our love for our fellowmen. (1 John 4:20; Matthew 25:34-40).

sabbath devotional
“I know I did not create myself. As a matter of fact, no human being could have created himself or herself. Only a Higher Power could have brought about human life on this planet. Just as I did not create myself, I cannot create the explanation for my own life. But the Higher Being who has created us can provide the explanation for our own lives.” - Gilbert Bilezikian
