An artist is a creative person who spends time to express their creativity through different media. Some through Painting, some through dance and others through other different art forms using non-conventional media such as metal, glass, clay and visual technology. Regardless of the medium they use, every artist seeks to express their ideas, ideals and emotions in a creative manner. In this day and age, advances in science and technology has opened a broader range of artistic media for creative individuals, ranging from digital media, interactive art installations as well as the peculiar niche of street art, graffiti, and art created using industrial by products.

Creative people have unique characters and individual ways in which they feel comfortable in doing what they do, and in this regard, they highly value their private workspace. So often it is a private place for them to reflect, find sanctuary and carry out their creative work – sometimes novel projects of experimental nature. It not only needs to have the right atmosphere but also be practical enough to be able to carry out the Artist’s work while catering to the basic human needs of space.

I selected the artist who is a musician. First I met him and discussed his requirements, preferences, the nature of the activities and I silently explored his life style. Then I understood the nature and character of the Artist and his personality; his way of living, ideals, thinking, and working habits. Then I created a list of the space requirements and researched a creative Art practiced and understood their process. Later I selected a suitable site located in Palawatta, which has great views and I analysed the Artist, the artistic process as well as the site. In the design part, first I built a suitable concept for the project with the key spaces and developed the project according to the client's needs. I didn't forget to maintain a Sketch journal of design idea and Development to show the progress.

A house is building where people live in and conduct their private lives. It is a place to dwell, and to feel at home. The architecture and expression of what a house is has changed dramatically with time, and will also change based on the owner, site, and climate. The culture of the society and social strata will also have a profound effect on how a house is arranged in terms of space.

Therefore, it is essential to understand for whom you are designing for, where it will be located and how the client perceives a house and the activities that will take place in it. The architect also will have to consider how each client perceives their own household – for some it will be the centre of their existence and own personal haven, and for others it will be mostly the space where they wind down from the worldly duties for rest and respite. An understanding of your client’s point of view and their attitude towards life and family is therefore crucial for formulating their actual requirements of the house.

So I had to design a house for Mrs. Manomi perera, in selected area which is located in Baththramulla, Thalangama , Sri Lanka. The project goes my beyond the limits of my design process. My client has an extrovert personality with selected people and she likes to make memories with them. And she likes to travel . But inside this character there is a hidden character that has some dark memories of her life so in that case she is doing meditation to keep her mental health So according to her character I had to design a house that fit to her extrovert personality and also match to her meditation side. And I also I had to think about her husband, because home is the place where both of them live.

In the design part, first I built a suitable concept for the project with the key spaces and developed the project according to the client's needs. I didn't forget to maintain a Sketch journal of design idea and Development to show the progress.
