I am an Undergraduate young experimenter from SLIIT School of Architecture who earned a Second Upper BSc. (Hons.) Degree in Architecture, awarded by the Liverpool John Moore’s University UK

As a person who aspires to bring things beyond the tradition in every subject that I fall interested, this architecture is one of weapons to show new experiments of mine to growth of Organization. Becoming an actor impersonate different characters sharpen me in generating ideas of how it would be combining different architectural feelings together to come up with a new design.

PROJECT INTRODUCTION

As the CDP project I got the Wellness center project. This project is to design a wellness center in a city which is developing into a tech city. That is Homagama. Homagama, meegoda area is chosen for this project Homagama is in Colombo district in Sri Lanka About 24 kilometers away from Colombo Homagama is well known for its TechCity project A place where rich from different ethnics There is Hot, oppressive, overcast, and windy climate in Homagama. Temperature: 73F to 91F. As a city developing into a TechCity this is going to attract more young adults crowd to this city. So, wellness center project is more suitable for this kind a scenario. The problems identified to start this project When Homagama highlighting as a tech city, most of the people who attract to the city are young adults (The age group of 18 25) is the high prevalence of the depression When giving treatments the major problem in young adults is, they are not continuing or less likely get into treatments because of the fear of Medication or stigmas around the treatments. (Their characteristics of self consciousness comparison, and outer comparison.) As psychologists says young adult group is a transition period in between teenage and adults. ‘Young adults were consistently less likely than older adults’ group strongly believe that the patients with the mental illness will live normal Less likely receive sympathy and care from others, or benefit from Psychiatric treatment. Young adults labeled, “depression” as representing a negative self perception. They mark depression as abnormal, weak, ill adjust or crazy. Young adults resist the idea of treatments because of fear of medication or stigmas around treatments ’As Architectural problem I could highlight that Lacking a place which is not tagged as a mental treatment center but also move with public, which gives a freedom, comfortable, confidential surrounding for young adults who willing for treatments for depression. SOLUTION ‘As Psychologists say, we all have depression in ourselves in different levels, stages. Depression is not an illness, it is a setback in our mindset due to undergoing illness or challenges, or activities we face in our life.’ So, there are no one to be cornered 1 A place where stay away from forceful, getting treatments, step by step feeling like any other mental wellness centers with focusing on outpatient treatments, a facility must ensure a high level of comfort, a place where they feel more secure. 2. Where the reception, areas with enable confidential conversations without Embarrassment. 3. A place where inviting both those depressed and those who are not, without anyone knowing this is tagged as a mental treatment center., and without depressed persons viewed to outsiders as getting treatments and let them feel they are secure in having treatments Unbeknownst to them 4 I called it as a positivity center

PROJECT INTRODUCTION

This project is to have a research center in Kanneliya forest reserve. The given site is located at Kanneliya forest reserve which is in 2004 the UNESCO man and Biosphere program identified the (KDN) Kanneliya Dediyagala Nakiyadeniya forest complexas an international Biosphere Reserve

Problems identified

Kanneliya villagers giving main prior to the tea cultivation as it is the only profession that is in high demand commercially and unaware that there is a high demand for medicinal plants of high value in the forest. People who are visiting the forest are not interested in discovering and conserve indigenous medicinal valued plants, they tend to be pretended unseen the value of indigenous Lack of knowledge on researchers what is in the forest

Building

Having a research center specialized in medicinal plants and its eco system, understanding the environment and how insects, small species even having a bond to these plants in helping or breaking its eco system is the study area of this research center This is a medicinal plant and its environment conservation research center

Objectives

Which will be educate other foreign or local naturalists, researchers on ongoing research projects with having exhibition type halls

Educate villagers on how medicinal plants grow in their back yard and letting them to know how valued and tend them to join in conserving them and it may help a new livelihood method indirectly to villagers.
