Dr Donna Tanchev

Female focus

A familiar face in business and community Dr Donna Tanchev is the principal GP and founder of Her Medical, a much-needed medical centre dedicated to Women’s Health.

After completing a degree in psychology at the University of Newcastle, Donna finished her medical degree at Bond University. She has extensive experience with all aspects of women’s health from antenatal shared care and child health, contraception, endometriosis, menopause and everything in between.

As she explains, “I am a naturally curious person and I found the human body fascinating. From a young age I was drawn to the sciences and medicine.

“I love all aspects of medicine and truly enjoy the diversity of general practice. I found a large gap in the general practice landscape looking for my own women’s health GP. I felt that this is where I could do really good work in treating acute and chronic illness as well as providing up to date evidence-based, inclusive, holistic health education and preventative care.”

Her Medical is a dream come true for Dr Donna.

“As a young woman, I found it very challenging to find a medical centre that I wanted to go to and feel comfortable at. Her Medical is the reality of a very clear vision I have held in my mind from so long ago to create a beautiful, elegant space for women to attend to their health.

“I wanted a spa-like experience in the medical centre that included a holistic approach to ‘wellness’.

During her career, Dr Donna has been mentored and encouraged by various medical professionals who taught her about the imperative of caring.

“Along the way, I have met and been inspired by various doctors who taught me not only about the science of medicine but also, the art, and provided me with the framework upon which to model myself as a doctor. The one that stood out for me and that I felt most connected to was: ‘when you care, quality naturally follows’. That is the ethos of my work as a doctor and the mantra at Her Medical.”

Beyond the practice, Dr Donna is committed to her own health and wellbeing, making time for other pastimes, including travel, cooking, fashion and photography.

“As well as music, which can be heard playing all day at Her Medical,” she adds.

A passionate Gold Coaster, Dr Donna loves the outdoor lifestyle. “I love the weather and the proximity to both stunning beaches and hinterland, and I am really excited about the burgeoning arts and culture precincts that are developing.”

Azra Kujovic

Dynamic doyenne

Azra Kujovic is a well-recognised face on the social circuit thanks to her role at TAG Heuer, part of the LVHM group, but much more than this, she’s a devoted mum to her two boys, Armani and Aidan and dedicated devotee of fashion.

Prior to this position, Azra worked her way up through the ranks of DFS and was the youngest General Manager at the tender age of 27. After a stint in Auckland where she honed her retail skills, she returned to the Gold Coast and took up the role of Manager at TAG Heuer, the esteemed Swiss watchmaker.

Building on her background and experience as part of a global team, Azra founded her own business, known as Excelsior 99 consulting and PR in 2015, coaching and adding value to businesses in leadership and training fields.

Born in Sarajevo, Bosnia Herzegovina, Azra migrated to Australia with her family in 1994 and grew up in Mermaid Waters, always retaining a deep appreciation for art, culture, history and fashion. “I appreciate fashion and see it as form of art and a platform for

Dr Melissa Routledge has been a Vet for five years, graduating from the University of Queensland with Honours in 2016.

She operates Vet Xpress mobile veterinary service covering the entire Gold Coast.

“I was drawn to this career as I have always had an affinity for animals,” she says. “For as long as I can remember becoming a Veterinarian was all I ever wanted to do as a career.”

For Melissa, it’s a privilege and pleasure to work with animals every day.

“I love helping owners establish long and healthy relationships with their pets. I also enjoy being a support network and providing advice to owners when they need it in a variety of different ways such as animal welfare, nutrition, behaviour and husbandry.”

Vet Xpress is unique as it is a privately-owned, owner-operated small business.

“I operate as a mixed practice Veterinarian so provide services to small and large animals. Being a mobile Veterinary service appeals to customers who may be elderly and can’t drive, mothers with children at home, many people for many different reasons.

“Another large clientele base we have is large dogs that are hard to transport or cats who do not like car rides. We also service a number individual expression,” she says. “It connects us and helps us to express ourselves, just like painting and drawing.

“Fashion to me is a way of introducing yourself no matter what your fashion style is without having to say a word.

“It is also a way to express yourself. It provides us with a creative outlet that we can constantly change and evolve into our unique style.”

Having lived in Europe, the Middle East and New Zealand, Azra is proud to call the Gold Coast home, where her heart and soul are both firmly bonded.

“The Gold Coast home is the perfect place for our family where my two sons were born and are being raised.

“It provides a great lifestyle, beautiful contrast of beaches and hinterland and access to world-class educational facilities and infrastructure without hustle of big city living.

“The climate is perfect and the city is ever evolving, offering vast opportunities for growth and something for everyone. Most of all, Gold Coast has many incredible people and a great sense of community spirit that make this a truly remarkable city to cherish, live in and be part of.”

of clients who breed litters of puppies, the benefit to them is they don’t have to take puppies into a vet surgery and expose them to other potentially sick animals.”

Feedback from her clients clearly shows they appreciate the personal, convenient home service. “Plus they will always be seeing the same Veterinarian each time, me, which allows me to provide follow up care and really gives customers a sense of inclusion and belonging.”

Born and raised on the Gold Coast, Melissa spends time with her horse, Flo.

“She is a Belgian Draft who I ride and compete on at local competitions. I used to compete for Australia and locally in the sport of Equestrian Vaulting - best described as Gymnastics on horseback.

“Family time is also important,” she continues. “I have an 18 month old daughter and husband. We love exploring the Gold Coast on the weekends including the Farmers Markets at Bundall, local cafés and theme parks. We hope to be able to travel internationally again soon.”

The Gold Coast satisfies every need and interest. “What’s not to love about the Gold Coast? The weather, the restaurants, cafés, social events, shopping – everything’s here.”
