The Landscape of Time Winery and Church of Seediq
00 Seediq is one of the most important natives of Taiwanese aborigines. They lived around the Wanda area 50 years ago before the dam constructing. The site is now occupied by a huge water reservoir and a hydraulic power plant, making a great danger of flodding and dam crashing due to 75 % of reservoir volume fullfilled by silt. My proposal establishes a method to remove the dam in four phases, because the downstream area doesn’t have the ability to digest the silt over short period. In the same time , the reclaimed land will be generated as farmlands for Seediq self-production. Those concrete removed from dam will be the material for construction of architecture and shaping farmland, so that it could make a circulation of material usage and achieve the balance between removal and construction. The winey and a church ,apearing after the dam removal, wil be part of sustainable sytem and landscape for aborigines of this area.

Thesis design 00 The Landscape of Time Industry v.s. Power v.s. Nature Resource Dam Construction Process
The factories of industry areas around Taiwan’s coast line consume lots of energy. The hydraulic power plant on the site, located deep in the mountain, is one of the contributer of the system, but it harms the landscape and Seediq’s living authorities.
Blocked the river, and also contruct the water channel to replace the original one. Then constructing the dam.
Danger by Infrastructure - Wanda Dam The Wanda reservoir has the import position of electricity generating, but close to terminate due to 75% of the volume occupied by silt. It may put the people’s life in great danger because the doubling pressure acts on Wanda Dam. Increasing the osibility of water flooding and dam crashing.

STRATEGY - DAM REMOVAL PROCESS v.s RECLAIMED LAND
re-do cement walls from the crash dam pieces
The mechanism is established to removal the dam and generate the re-claimed land in progress. There are total 4 phases. Each phase, the silt will be released and flow toward the river downstream. Land under water covered by silt will reveal gradually after each phase. The silt containing rich organic nutrition could be transformed to farmland for crops or plants.

THE STRUCTURE SYTEM - CRASH DAM PIECES REUSGE The cement waste from dam deconstruction could be the structure or foundations of the architecture and ridges of rice field. The winery builds up from different scale cement blocks from dam distruction. Finally, the process will create a new self-productive system for local aborigines.

WINERY
The winery merges with the waterfront and riceďŹ eld. It uses the products and water of this new born land and then create a sustainable productive system. Not only as a symbolic landmark of the place but plays the role of the village public open space extension.

Wind sweeps the rice ďŹ elds and blows toward the direction of dam remain. The winery stands out on the new reclaimed surrounding crops and rice. It will be constructed by reusing the crashing concrete from the dam and digests the borderline product of plants such as rice straws. It is born from the landscape and witness the miracle.

Taipei Songshan Airport occupys huge area in the center of Taipei, but the amount of total passengers is decreseaing rapidly in recent year. What if the Airport is removed to release great open space. It could be translated to dierent functionalities to beniďŹ t the Taipei urban area. Keep the airport runway because it follows up wind direction and represented the history of the city and airport itself. Design a folding route to cross the original runway back and forth. De-contour the route to create the samll journey inside the side to feel the mix-up of nature, history, and time. It will be an unique experience for concrete jungle citizens.

02 The site is located in the edge of the downtown and sub-rural area. There is a huge bridge lifting up as a fast track toward the highway interchange. It’s transporting a huge amount of vehicles daily and make the commercial advrtisers to put a lots of advertises on the elevations of the building around the site. Behide this phenomenon, there is a great chance to link owners of buildings and the constructors rent the billboard and provide the cheaply rent for young talents.

Different type of units are located behind various scale and price advertisements. The income from the bill-boards is used to supply the budget of whole housing. Those youth can have their own room and studio, and each unit has its flexibility to re-arrange by the owner to fit the requirements. In general, each unit has one studio, bedroom and toilet, the space of the studio could be split to more dynamic space for users.

The image and design concept were generated from the article of “Invisible City”. Converted to diagrams at first, they were then transformed into concept models. Second, combine the concept models with different scales and operations; rotating or shifting. Therefore, the complex space model was composed. As a result , a dormitory was designed upon reference of space model and site conditions.
Diagrams The city of Leonia, it’s a city surrounded by daily trashes and extending daily in the article. It’s like mountain chains and expending the city. Imagine if there are many cities like Leonia. The edge spaces between cities are composed by different kinds of objects and allow us to have interesting imagination.

This project is focused on producing the perspective by observation behavior of human beings in urban. Issues and perspectives were produced from your personal life experiences and observations. Those materials were converted to generate the design operation methods of a “HOUSE. The design represents the attitude of how I realize the relationship between people and urban.

Educational work 04 In Between
City is a collection of rules. We follows those rules to keep the society working fine. However, we usually follow them blindly, frequently. It’s necessary to rethink and break out some of them. It’s not only the philosophy question, but also the reality needed to face.

Community Activity Center
The design, a community centre, is for the residents nearby. The community centre contains a easy meal shop, a daycare center, a community classroom, a small library, and a gallery. The design strategy comes from observing the context around the site. You can observe lots of “frames along the street, just like a short clip when wandering. Furthermore, if there are lots of framed programs in the same axis, it may create shopwindows result. making the relationships between programs more interesting.

The Corner Gallery + Education Facility
06 The site is located in a complete block with three sides facing streets. This project has two phases. First, we design a gallery in the the first corner. The gallery combines office space, exhibition space and a simple lecture hall. The second phase is an addition of educational facility in another corner, and it’s necessary to integrate with the gallery due to the same owner.
