Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation
As a member of the European Union and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Slovak Republic ranks among the most advanced countries in the world. In light of its positive macroeconomic development, Slovakia graduated from the World Bank’s operations in 2008, which means that Slovakia ceased to be a recipient and became a donor of development assistance. Slovak Republic has, since 2003, been engaged in bilateral development assistance programmes and projects carried out in developing countries, in addition to providing trilateral and multilateral assistance and humanitarian aid (SlovakAid). Since 2004, as an EU Member State, Slovakia has been engaged in the funding of development activities carried out by the European Commission.
