CHRISTIAN FORMATION | 10 am FAITH AND LITERATURE Saint Michael Chapel TODAY: Celeste Ng’s “Everything I Never Told

You”, with Mary Lessmann A profoundly moving story of family, secrets, and longing, Everything I Never Told You is both a gripping page-turner and a sensitive family portrait, uncovering the ways in which mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, and husbands and wives struggle, all their lives, to understand one another.

JULY 22: Sue Monk Kidd’s “The Secret Life of

Bees”, with Allison Liles Set in South Carolina in 1964, The Secret Life of Bees tells the story of Lily Owens, whose life has been shaped around the blurred memory of the afternoon her mother was killed. When Lily’s fierce-hearted black “stand-in mother,” Rosaleen, insults three of the deepest racists in town, Lily decides to spring them both free. They escape to Tiburon, South Carolina--a town that holds the secret to her mother’s past.
