For God’s Story, children and youth will still go to all of their age-appropriate classes. This will be a fantastic time as all of us—literally everyone—will learn the same lessons each Sunday as we work our way through the story of the Bible!

CHRISTIAN FORMATION | 10 am FAITH AND LITERATURE Saint Michael Chapel TODAY: Sue Monk Kidd’s “The Secret Life of

Bees”, with Allison Liles Set in South Carolina in 1964, The Secret Life of Bees tells the story of Lily Owens, whose life has been shaped around the blurred memory of the afternoon her mother was killed. When Lily’s fierce-hearted black “stand-in mother,” Rosaleen, insults three of the deepest racists in town, Lily decides to spring them both free. They escape to Tiburon, South Carolina--a town that holds the secret to her mother’s past.

JULY 29: Thornton Wilder’s “The Skin of Our Teeth”, with Tom Blackmon Time magazine called The Skin of Our Teeth “a sort of Hellzapoppin’ with brains,” as it broke from established theatrical conventions and walked off with the 1943 Pulitzer Prize for Best Drama. Meet George and Maggie Antrobus (married only 5,000 years); their two children, Gladys and Henry (perfect in every way!); and their maid, Sabina (the ageless vamp) as they overcome ice, flood, and war -- by the skin of their teeth.

UPCOMING OPPORTUNITIES VESTRY AND DIOCESAN DELEGATE NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN Nominations are open for people to serve on the Vestry beginning in January 2019, and for delegates to serve at the Diocesan Convention beginning in 2019. The Vestry recently changed the Church’s Bylaws so that Vestry members and new Delegates to the Diocesan Convention will be elected in the fall, and begin their terms on January 1 of the following year. This will allow Vestry members and Diocesan Delegates to serve on a calendar year basis. Therefore, five new Vestry members and new Convention Delegates will be elected at the Parish Meeting October 28, 2018. The deadline to submit nominations is 4 p.m., Friday, August 18. All forms should be returned to the receptionist at the South Lanai entrance. Nomination forms are available from the church receptionist and online at www.saintmichael.org. PROJECT MOSES Project Moses is a ministry in the fight against human trafficking. Join us to learn more about the issue here in Dallas and our state and how you can help. Watch our video at www.saintmichael.org/projectmoses. ADULT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! We have many exciting events and activities happening this fall with our youth programming at Saint Michaels and we need your help to make them happen. Consider volunteering this year by signing up online at saintmichael.org/youth or talking to Lauren.

PLANTING A SEED FOR THE FUTURE By combining your giving at Saint Michael with tax and other financial strategies, you can play a critical role in building and ensuring the future of Saint Michael and All Angels Church. Like planting seeds that bear fruit in the future, a planned gift to Saint Michael is a seed whose fruit will support the church well beyond your lifetime. To explore your planned giving opportunities, contact Lowell Duncan, Director of Legacy Planning at lduncan@saintmichael.org. CHILDREN AND FAMILY MINISTRY (CFM) - THIS FALL Sunday morning class registration for children and youth is now open! Classes will begin on August 26th. Space can be limited so sign up now!
