November 4, 2018 Welcome To Saint Michael! We’re glad you’ve chosen to worship with us today as we move further in to our year-long “God’s Story” journey (reading the entire Bible) and seek to learn more about being disciples of Jesus. If you are visiting or in need of prayer support, please fill out a communication/prayer request card located in the backs of the pews. Saint Michael is a family and we hope you’ll consider becoming a part of it. Come back soon!

Advent Quiet Day W I T H H E I D I H AV E R K A M P

DECEMBER 1 | 9 A.M. - 12 P.M. | COKE ROOM With its themes of light and darkness, snow and cold, temptation and sin, forgiveness and hope, C.S. Lewis’ enchanting novel for children, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, is in fact both a delightful and serious Advent story for adults. You don’t have to have read the book to attend this Quiet Day, where through discussion and personal reflection we’ll talk about faith and imagination in our own lives and explore the promise of Incarnation as conceived in the novel and scripture.

Beyond Your Giving

Stewardship Sunday Ministry Spotlight:

“Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.” – Luke 6:38

Music, Parish, and Worship Ministries

At the core of Saint Michael and All Angels are the countless volunteers that lend time, talent and treasure to lift up our Church by providing worship and fellowship opportunities that strengthen our faith and our friendships. These ministries range from being a part of the choir, Altar Guild and Acolyte corps, the Women and Men of Saint Michael, Prime Timers, and the St. Mary’s Guild to name a few. Saint Michael is made up of ministries that create worship experiences for our Parish, offer fellowship at all levels, and provide music that enhances our worship experience and sets us apart. With the continued support from our Parish and with your consideration of a significant pledge in 2019, these ministries can grow and continue to provide the support necessary to be a strong parish. If you would like more information about how to get involved in these ministries, visit saintmichael.org.

You can view the class schedule here: saintmichael.org/gods-story. ORGANIZING FOR HEAVEN 3 week Sunday Series | Parlor | 10 - 11 a.m. Sometimes we neglect to attend to the details of that time when our health will decline and finally we go into everlasting life with our Lord. There are many reasons why we do not make time to plan for the end of our life: we don’t believe death will catch us unawares, the planning information can be confusing, etc. Pastoral Care will host “Organizing for Heaven” November 4, 11 and 18. In it, we will gather experts in the fields of legal issues, hospice, funeral planning, and our columbarium. In these sessions, we will discuss the fundamentals of living the last few years of life in dignity. Please join us – you are welcome. PT CRUISERS | NOV. 15 PT Cruisers travel to the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens. Bus leaves the church at 9:30 a.m. Join us as we “head west” to Fort Worth to view God’s handiwork at the Botanical Gardens. Cost is $5. Lunch after at one of Ft. Worth’s wonderful Mexican restaurants. Deadline is Sunday, Nov. 11. Call Bonita Frederick at 214-728-6440. JOIN OUR USHERS Want to play a role in our worship service? Then join the Usher Corp! The Usher Corps consists of approximately 100 men and women dedicated to providing a highquality worship experience for all. Contact Gary Wall at 214-686-6366 HONDURAS MISSION TRIP | FEB. 10-17 Leaving on February 10 and returning on February 17, this trip to Honduras promises to be engaging and Spirit-filled.
