TONIGHT!

from the seattle Seahawks Please join us in listening to Ben Malcolmson’s incredible testimony as an undergrad student journalist - and having not played football since the 5th grade - tried out for the USC football team to write a humorous feature article about walk-ons. Miraculously, he landed a roster spot as a wide receiver on the No. 1-ranked Trojans. Ben was both thrilled and curious, sensing a divinely inspired reason. The journey that followed would batter his body, test his perseverance, and break his heart. Ben’s inspiring story of hope will encourage you to new heights, stir up your sense of purpose, and leave you standing in awe of an utterly amazing God.

WOMEN OF SAINT MICHAEL GIFTS COMMITTEE ANNOUNCE $400,000 FOR 2019 RECIPIENTS

The WOSM Spring Luncheon was the backdrop for both a wonderful moment celebrating the work and ministry of event honoree and parishioner Anne Coke, and also the announcement that its Gifts Committee awarded $400,000 in grants to 71 nonprofits that work with those living in poverty in Dallas County. These 71 agencies focus on assisting with crisis needs (shelter, hunger, clothing) or achieving financial stability. For 60 years, the Women of Saint Michael Gifts Committee has given back to the community grants totaling over $9.7 million. Much of the funding for the Gifts Committee comes from the profits of the St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange gift shop in Highland Park Village, celebrating its 60th year, and the oldest operating storefront in the “Village”. The Exchange was originally started in 1939 as a consignment shop, was later operated by the Jr. League of Dallas as a service project, and in 1958 was sold to the Women of Saint Michael for $1500. “The money we receive from the Women of Saint Michael keeps our air conditioning going, and all of our 400 clients warm in the winter and cool in the summer” - Daniel Roby, Executive Director of Austin Street Center

This philanthropy is guided by the spirit of giving expressed in scripture,”For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.” -Matthew 25:35
