The Great Miracle of Christmas
Christmas has always been a very special time of year for me. When I was a child, I was very active in my Catholic church’s children’s choir. Because we didn’t have a strong adult choir, starting at a very young age, I was the lead cantor for our children’s service on Sunday mornings, and even for Christmas Eve mass. But it was singing Silent Night that I remember most. In early grade school, our children’s choir director chose a group of us to sing Silent Night in multiple languages. I was given German — stille nacht — and I sang that verse each Christmas for years. I can still sing from memory.

A Brighter Christmas for Parishioners and Neighbors Parishioners, area neighbors, and traffic on Douglas Avenue are getting a brighter Christmas from Saint Michael this year. With a suggestion and generous gift from a parishioner, the church was able to wrap six of the large oak trees and the six Christmas trees at the entrance with lights. The lights will be turned on during the Saint Michael Presents Christmas concert Sunday evening, December 3 to greet guests as they leave. The lights will brighten the holidays through the New Year.
