Saint Michael and All Angels’ offices and campus are closed tomorrow, January 2 – NO 7:00 a.m. Eucharist The Rev. Mary Lessmann Expands Role at Saint Michael. Rector Chris Girata has announced that The Rev. Mary Lessmann will expand her responsibilities at Saint Michael and has appointed her as Associate for Spiritual Growth. “Mary will continue and expand on the formative work she has already begun, as well as work on new ways for our members to grow in their spiritual lives,” Girata said. The Rev. Lessmann this past fall led a new Enneagram class and will lead a second session beginning later this month. She also is teaching the Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study class. Footsteps of St. Paul Pilgrimage Meeting Set for January 17. The Rector, Chris Girata, and his family are hosting a pilgrimage this summer tracing the missionary journeys of St. Paul. An information meeting about the trip will be held Tuesday evening, January 17, at the home of Peggy Carr. The pilgrimage cruise, June 29 July 12, will include tours of Rome, Athens, Ephesus, and Corinth, as well as other scenic sites in the Mediterranean. Saint Michael 101 – A Quick Course friends want to know about Saint Michael and membership in the church, Saint Michael 101 on Sunday, January 22 is the place. The Rev. Saint Michael’s Extended Care Cooks is looking for people who are willing to cook once or twice a year for parishioners just home from the hospital, going through an illness, or some other need. New Enneagram Class Begins in January – Registration Open. A winter Enneagram class will begin January 18 led by The Rev. Mary Lessmann and Mary Ann Webster. The Enneagram is a personality assessment tool focusing on our relationship with God and those who are most important to us. The twelve week session will meet in the Coke Activities Room on Wednesdays from 1:00 to 2:30 in the afternoon. Three parishioners who have spent a major part of the their careers serving the Dallas community will be in the spotlight of the Women of Saint Michael January meeting on Wednesday, January 18. For the first time the meeting will be in the evening beginning with the program at 6:30 in the church, followed by dinner in the Parlor and Garden Cloister. It is open to the entire parish. Tom Luce, former Assistant Secretary of Education; Dr. Gail Thomas, CEO of the Trinity Trust; and Walt Humann, the “father of DART” and Saint Michael’s Jubilee Park neighborhood revitalization initiative, will form a panel discussing “Community Work through Faith.” The panel will be moderated by parishioner Brad Watson, former political commentator for WFAA-TV. Make new friends and help make this year’s Parish Party a huge success by volunteering for small or large jobs! The party, “The Stars at Night,” promises to be a stellar event on Friday, February 24. The Rector Chris Girata will talk about his vision for the Prayer Ministry at the group’s meeting Thursday, January 19 in the Coke Activities Room at 6:00. Dinner is provided for $10.
