Welcome to Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. We are honored to have our Scholar-in-Residence, Dr. Amy-Jill Levine, with us today delivering our Distinguished Lecture at 10:00 in Parish Hall. Dr. Levine is Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt. She will return the weekend of March 31-April 2 for the third in her series of Distinguished Lectures. Thank you for worshiping with us today. A Message from the Rector. In deep gratitude for their service, I inform you that James Diaz and Hyeon Jeong, our Organist-Choirmaster and Associate Organist-Choirmaster, will be leaving Saint Michael after Easter. Their shared ministry has spanned nearly twenty years, providing support for our worship in so many ways. For their love and service to this community, we give thanks! As we look to the future, know that there will be an opportunity to celebrate their ministry among us. I will also share news with you next week about a search for who will succeed them. Please read the beautiful letter that James and Hyeon have written online at www.saintmichael.org. Bishop Sumner to Address Thursday’s Prayer Ministry Meeting. The Prayer Ministry will host Bishop George Sumner at its Thursday, February 16 meeting. The Bishop will talk about “Prayer and Evangelism…Where is the Diocese of Dallas Headed?” The meeting and dinner (for $10) will be in the Coke Activities Room beginning at 6:00. See the Beatitudes at work in Bolivia during our pilgrimage to the Amistad Mission in Cochabamba, March 24 – April 2. A pilgrimage information meeting will be held this evening at 6:00 in the Coke Activities Room. Amistad, a major outreach ministry of Saint Michael, provides a safe, loving, Christian environment for abandoned and abused children. RSVP to tonight’s meeting at hruffin@saintmichael.org. Vocal Majority to Perform at Saint Michael Presents March 5. The internationally acclaimed men’s ensemble The Vocal Majority will perform at the Saint Michael Presents concert Sunday evening, March 5 at 7:00. The 100+ men’s chorus has performed around the world and produced more than two-dozen recordings of their diverse repertoire. Tickets to the free concert are necessary to assure adequate seating and can be obtained online at www.saintmichael.org/saintmichaelpresents or at the south lanai reception desk.

Children Collecting for North Dallas Shared Ministries. As part of North Dallas Shared Ministries Month our children’s Sunday School Classes (kindergarten – 5th) are collecting nonperishable food items. Next Sunday, February 19, the Family Day of Service, the donations will be taken to the warehouse where our families will stock the North Dallas Shared Ministries shelves. Acolyte Training In February. Training to join one of the Episcopal Church’s largest and most respected Acolyte Corps will be held on two Saturdays during February. Honduras Threads Holds Briefing on Summer Mission Trip. This summer’s Honduras Threads mission trip will be outlined at an formation meeting next Sunday, February 19 at 10:00 in Bishop Moore Chapel. Honduras Threads works with women in village co-ops to create and market native-designed pillows and tapestries. Youth Bolivia Mission Trip Parent/Participant Meeting - Tomorrow Evening A meeting for parents and youth participating in the trip to the Amistad Mission in Bolivia will take place tomorrow evening, February 13, at 6:00 in the Youth Center. The mission trip will leave July 24 and return August 1. We will discuss requirements for the trip including necessary vaccinations, a packing list, and schedules.
