Glenn serves as the Assistant Choirmaster and Organist at St. Mark’s School of Texas. Glenn will remain on our music staff through the spring of 2018 to support the transition to the new Organist/Choirmaster. Thank you for worshiping with us today, and enjoy the music. Saint Michael Food Fight Tomorrow Night: Winners will be Top Angel Chefs. Tomorrow night eight chef teams from Saint Michael will square off in the biggest food fight in the church’s history. It will be a scene not to be missed. The competition begins at 6:00 p.m. at Trinity Groves, located on Singleton Boulevard just west of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. As the teams cut, chop, saute, and puree, you can enjoy libations, snacks, and camaraderie. In the end, one of the teams will earn the title “Top Angel Chefs.” Proceeds will go to the Women of Saint Michael gifts committee for distribution to Dallas area charities and Episcopal ministries. Get tickets online at www.saintmichael.org or at the door. Disciples Class on Retreat this Weekend – Confirmation Next Sunday. The 6th grade Disciples Confirmation Class is on retreat at Sky Ranch this weekend. Youth Confirmation will be Sunday, May 7 at 3:00 in the afternoon. Adult Confirmation will be that morning at 11:00 in the Church. Saint Michael’s Farmers Market Opens for its Sixth Season. The Saint Michael’s Farmers Market opened for its 6th season yesterday in the church’s north parking lot. Nearly 40 vendors, including more than 12 new ones, are participating in this year’s market. For a complete list of vendors and their products or to volunteer as a greeter go to the Farmers Market website, www. saintmichaelsmarket.com. The market is open every Saturday morning from 8:00 – 12:00 Noon. The market was featured last week on Channel 8’s Good Morning Texas. Chip Edens to Address Women of Saint Michael Spring Luncheon May 9. The Rev. Chip Edens, former Vice Rector at Saint Michael, will be the featured speaker at the Women of Saint Michael Spring Luncheon on Tuesday, May 9. His theme, “Soul Purpose,” will inspire and challenge the women to live their lives with faith, hope, and love. Currently Chip is Rector of Christ Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. At the luncheon the women will get results of the Parish Party and the Gifts Committee’s distribution of funds to area charities and Episcopal ministries. Hunter Ruffin's Ministry Celebrated Today at 10:00 We will celebrate the ministry of Hunter Ruffin today at 10:00 in the Garden Cloister. Hunter is leaving Saint Michael to start a new church in the Diocese of Fort Worth. Next week, May 7, will be his last Sunday with us. Join us in thanking Hunter for his leadership of our Mission and Outreach efforts.

Registration for Vacation Bible School Opens Tomorrow: Volunteers Needed. Registration begins tomorrow morning at 9:00 for the June 5 – 8 Vacation Bible School, “Rome: Paul and the Underground Church.” Vacation Bible School is open to children ages 4 (as of June 5) to rising 5th graders. Saint Michael and All Angels will recognize and honor its graduating high school seniors on Sunday, May 14 at the 11:00 a.m. worship service. A reception for students, their parents and relatives will be held in the Parlor following the service. Three Week Series, Organizing for Heaven, Begins Today. Organizing for Heaven, a three week series on planning for the end of life, begins today at 10:00 a.m. in the Parlor. The Pastoral Care series starts with a session led by Bennett Cullum and Robin Robinson on protecting yourself legally and medically and including gifts to Saint Michael in your will. For the past two years groups of parents, teachers, volunteers, and staff have been reviewing the church’s Youth Ministry programs. The results of those studies and enhancements to how we form our youth as young Christians will be presented on Tuesday, May 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Youth Center. While the meeting will address parents of children in or entering the youth program, all are invited to learn about plans to grow and enrich this vital ministry of Saint Michael. Alcoholics Anonymous. Meets on the first and third Sunday of the month in the Coke Activities Room at 7:30 in the evening. The group is open to both men and women.
