Welcome to Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church as we prepare for the 4th of July Holiday this week. There are many events throughout the area to celebrate America and the freedoms that so many have fought and died to preserve. You are encouraged to participate in one. And, be sure to thank God for our nation and the freedoms that we enjoy. Thank you for worshiping with us today. Church Closed for July 4th Holiday. The church will be closed tomorrow, July 3rd and Tuesday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. There will be no 7:00 a.m. worship services, meetings, or Bible study classes either day. Follow

Saint Michael Pilgrimage Tracing the Ministry of St. Paul. Saint Michael’s pilgrimage cruise tracing the ministry of St. Paul is boarding its ship in Barcelona, Spain today. The group, led by the Rector, will visit Mediterranean sites where St. Paul preached including Rome, Athens, Corinth, and Malta. The Rector is providing commentary on each day’s activities on the journey online at saintmichael.org/pilgrimage.

Invite a Friend to Learn About Saint Michael. Do you have a friend or neighbor that should be a member of Saint Michael and All Angels? This summer is a great time to invite them to the next Saint Michael 101 Dinner. This dinner is for exploring membership, meeting members of our Clergy and Vestry, and hearing about our many ministries, opportunities for involvement, and the exciting future of our parish. The Saint Michael 101 Dinner will be Sunday, September 24th from 6:00-8:00 in the Coke Activities Room. Childcare will be available. Austin Street Shelter Cooking Shifts for Holidays. Saint Michael will be serving dinner at the Austin Street Shelter on Wednesday, July 5. But because of the July 4th Holiday, cooking will be this evening beginning at 5:30. The meal will be stored in the church refrigerators and transported to Austin Street Shelter on Wednesday. If you can help cook, show up this evening in the Parish Hall kitchen or if you can help serve Wednesday signup online at saintmichael.org/missionoutreach/servenow. Stay Up-to-date On Your Pledge this Summer. Saint Michael is so thankful for the stewardship pledges of support from the congregation this year! Be sure to stay current on fulfilling your pledge throughout the summer. You can go online to the ‘Give’ section on our website to make a payment, send it by mail, or put it in the offering plate on Sunday . Gabrielle Ott to Head Children and Family Ministry Gabrielle Ott, who for several years has led Saint Michael’s Catechesis program, has agreed to lead the Children and Family Ministry on an interim basis. Beginning this month she will plan and direct programs for our children pre-school through 5th grade. Vicar Bill Murray said of Gabrielle, “Her many years of leading Catechesis gives her an insight into how to reach our families and parents.” Upon arrival in mid-August of The Rev. Dr. Eric Liles, Associate for Formation, Gabrielle will help in the selection and transition to a permanent Director of Children and Family Ministry.
