Followers of Christ, Spreading God’s Love
Welcome to Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. Today is Saint Michael Episcopal School Sunday. More than 200 children between the ages of 1 and 6 attend what is regarded as one of the premier preschool programs in Dallas. A group of the children will be singing during the offertory at the 9:00 service. Be sure to give a warm Saint Michael Welcome to the students and their parents, many of whom are not members. Thank you for worshiping with us today. Visiting? New? Come to Our Welcome Center. If you are a newcomer, visitor, or guest, please drop by our Welcome Center in the Parlor. We are glad you are worshiping with us, want to know you better, and answer any questions you have. Today is Parish Nurse Sunday. September is Children’s Health Month. The Parish Nurse is set up in the South Lanai with information on children’s health issues. You can also have your blood pressure taken and get general health questions answered. Contact Dianne Boyd, dboyd@saintmichael.org. Repair and Restoration Begins on Creation Window. Work began this week on the repair and restoration of the Creation Window behind the church’s choir loft. Over the next two weeks each stained glass panel will be removed and taken to the Stanton Studios in Waco where the frames will be repaired, the glass cleaned and re-leaded, and the window reassembled. The project is expected to be completed in the spring of next year. Repair of the window is part of the Refresh, Renew, Revive campaign earlier this year. Discovery – A Course About Our Church. Discovery is a 5-week course starting in October that gives newcomers and members the opportunity to delve more deeply into our Episcopal traditions. The course, led by the Rector Chris Girata, explores the history of Christianity and the Anglican Church, and Saint Michael’s mission in Dallas. Held each Sunday in October the session begins with lunch ($10) at 12:15 p.m. in the Coke Activities Room. The course prepares one to become a confirmed member of Saint Michael. Childcare is provided if requested. Register at: saintmichael. org/discoveryclass Saint Michael 101 Luncheon – An Introduction for Newcomers. Saint Michael 101 is the perfect opportunity for newcomers to explore our church, meet clergy and Vestry members, and learn about our ministries, opportunities for involvement, and exciting future. The luncheon is at 12:30 p.m. in the Coke Activities Room on Sunday, September 24. Childcare will be available. Coming to Saint Michael on Sundays is great, but you need to find a +1 too! Are you joining a Bible Study? What do you do while the children are in Sunday School? Can you help at St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange, drive a Meals on Wheel route, tutor at Jubilee Park, volunteer at the Welcome Center? Finding your +1 is the easiest way to feel connected to not only the Church, but also to others in the Church. To learn more about the Find Your +1 Imperative, visit saintmichael.org/imperatives
