Visit our website, saintmichael. org. Saint Michael Serving at The Gathering Today. Today Saint Michaelites will be worshiping and serving lunch to the homeless at ThanksGiving Square in downtown Dallas. The Rev. Mary Lessmann will lead the service which is followed by lunch. If you can help, join your fellow parishioners at 1:00 p.m. at ThanksGiving Square, 1627 Pacific Ave, between Akard & Ervay. Saint Michael’s Hurricane Relief Efforts. The victims of Hurricane Harvey are still suffering and need our help. Mission trips to Corpus Christi and surrounding areas are being planned for either November 10 – 12, or December 8 – 10 and will be hosted by the Diocese of Dallas and the Church of the Transfiguration. Package Relief Meals: Saint Michael Parishioners will join an interfaith fellowship on November 29 form 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El to package Hurricane relief meals to complete our goal of making 500,000 meals. To volunteer: participant.tedallas.org/ mealkitassembly. The Rector Goes to Washington. Our Rector, Chris Girata, will be Guest Chaplain at the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday. At the invitation of Congressman Jeb Hensarling, the Rector will deliver the opening prayer at the beginning of the session of Congress. Compline at Canterbury House Tonight – Join Us. Saint Michael celebrates a weekly Compline service at Canterbury House at SMU on Sunday evenings at 8:00 p.m. The choral service is led by Fr. Rich Towers, Associate for Student Ministry at SMU. The Canterbury House is located at 3308 Daniel, just east of Hillcrest. Final Confirmation Listening Session Scheduled for Tuesday. The final Listening Session to discuss recommendations to change the ages at which we confirm young students from 6th grade to 8th grade will be this Tuesday, October 24 at 6:00 p.m. in the Youth Center. The fall blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross is scheduled for next Sunday, October 29 in the ESD Library from 8:00 – 1:00 p.m. To register go to Saintmichael.org. If you are not able to give blood consider a donation to the American Red Cross, redcross.org/donate.

Eric Liles will discuss Peter the Apostle as a role model. $5 for Tacodeli breakfast tacos. • The Knitting Ministry creates the prayer shawls for the sick and needy. Grab your needles and join them on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. in the Drake Room. Saint Michael’s Youth Prepare College Care Packages. Our high school youth will gather in the Youth Center Wednesday, November 8 to prepare Care Packages for our college parishioners as they get ready for end of the term tests. Needed items include; breakfast foods, small umbrellas, packs of cookies and gum, Starbucks cards, pencils, highlighters, and hand sanitizer. Bring your donations to the Youth Center by Sunday, November 5. Send the name of your college student and mailing address to Lauren at lwainwright@ saintmichael.org.

Saint Michael Christmas Ornament Available in the Book Shop. The Saint Michael 2017 Christmas ornament has arrived in the Book Shop!! The ornament, designed by parishioner and choir member Susan Johnson, features three children choristers as a harbinger of the new generation of leadership guiding the musical excellence in the church. Get yours before they are all gone. Youth Small Group Gatherings. Middle School Girls - All girls in the 6th-8th grades are invited to join Lauren and Patricia for a Small Group, Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Youth Center Green Room. High School Boys - All high school boys are invited to join Daniel and Chase for lunch and a Bible study on Sundays. Meet in the Youth Center after the 11:00 services and walk to Preston Center for lunch. Bring a friend and money for lunch. For more info contact Chase at 214-692-3012. High School Girls - All girls from 9th-12th grades are invited to our weekly small group! We meet Sundays at 12:30 p.m. in the Youth Center for Bible talk and fellowship. Two Mission Trips are planned for Saint Michael’s youth this summer and registration is open. Our 6 – 12 graders will go to Anchorage, Alaska from July 18 - 25 to work with local agencies serving the homeless and hungry. Deadline to register is December 1. Our 9 – 12 graders will return to the Amistad Mission in Bolivia June 24 – July 2 to work with the children at Casa Esperanza. The signup deadline is February 1. Register at saintmichael.org/youth/mission-trips Children’s Choir Getting Organized. Saint Michael children’s choir program is getting tuned up. If you have a child or grandchild in the 3rd – 8th grades it is time to get them singing. The choristers will prepare special music for our Advent and Christmas season. They rehearse and have dinner on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. There is still time to join this exciting opportunity. The Women of Saint Michael Gifts Committee is accepting applications for 2018 grants. The funds are available to non-profit agencies serving the critical needs of residents primarily in the Dallas area. This year the Women’s grants totaled $237,000. Applications are due on Monday, November 13. More information and the grant application can be found at saintmichael.org/women Get Your Holiday Greenery and Support the Saint Michael Choir Program. The St. Dunstan’s Choir Guild will be selling Christmas Wreathes and Holiday Greenery on Sundays, October 29 and November 5 in the hallway by the Parlor. Order early! Jubilee Park is the destination for the PT Cruisers on Thursday, November 16. They will get a guided tour of Davids’ Place, Jeanie’s Place, the soccer and basketball courts, and end up at the Community Center for a complementary lunch. The bus leaves the church at 9:30. Parish Meeting Sunday, October 29 The Parish Meeting to elect new Vestry members and Delegates and Alternates to the 2018 Diocesan Convention will be held next Sunday, October 29 at 10:00 a.m. in the Church. The proposed new Vestry members are: John Ellerman, Jane Greene, Jay Lipscomb, Kyle Moore, and Anna Paccone. The Diocesan Delegate Parish Meeting candidates are: Terry Demler, J.C. Snead, and Scott Sunday, October 29 Wilson. The Alternates are: Heather Lorch, Blair 10:00 a.m. Oden, and Jack Rubarth. Following the election, Rector Chris Girata will update the parish on the Church Church’s strategic initiatives.
