Have a Happy Thanksgiving. The Church will be closed on Thursday and Friday this week for the Thanksgiving Holidays. Next Sunday, there will be no Children’s Chapel during the 9:00 worship service in the Church and no Sunday School classes. Today is Parish Nurse Sunday. The parish nurse is available to meet with you in the South Lanai to check your blood pressure and answer your health questions. She will also have Flu/Pneumonia Prevention and Treatment information. I Believe in Angels provides Christmas gifts for children and seniors living in the Jubilee Park neighborhood. Adopt an angel from tables located by the Parlor or near the Saint Michael Chapel or online at saintmichael.org/ibia. Return the gifts by Sunday, December 8. Volunteers are needed to help sort gifts on Friday, December 15, and at the family “shopping” day on Saturday, December 16. Parents of 4th and 5th grade students will meet on Sunday, December 3, to discuss changes in our Confirmation schedule for young students. The Rev. Dr. Eric Liles, Associate for Formation, will outline how changes in the ages at which we Confirm students will impact 4th and 5th graders. The meeting will be at 10:00 in the Youth Center. Saint Michael Presents Christmas Concert December 3. “Three Tales of Christmas” by the renowned men’s choral ensemble Cantus is the Saint Michael Presents community concert on Sunday, December 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the Church. Beloved holiday stories such as A Christmas Carol, The Gift of the Magi,The Night Before Christmas, and others will be reimagined through familiar carols and new holiday classics. The concert is free, but tickets are necessary to assure adequate seating. Get tickets at the South Lanai receptionist or online at saintmichael.org/ saintmichaelpresents. North Dallas Shared Ministries Month. Fill at least one grocery bag during November and bring it to the South Lanai. Suggested items: macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, tortillas, canned food items, saltine crackers. A more extensive list and grocery bags are available at several locations throughout the church. Financial contributions are just as valuable. Make checks payable to North Dallas Shared Ministries and bring to the South Lanai receptionist. November

Saint Michael youth (6th grade – 12th grade) are going to see the new hit movie Justice League, this afternoon at the Studio Movie Grill. The kids should meet at the theater on Central Expressway near Royal Lane at 4:15. Pick up after the movie is at 7:00 p.m. The cost is $15. Need information: Chase Monson at cmonson@ saintmichael.org. Deadline Nears for Youth Alaska Mission Trip. December 1st is the deadline to register for the Youth Alaska Mission Trip this summer. Our 6 – 12 graders will go to Anchorage from July 18 - 25 to work with local agencies serving the homeless and hungry. Our mission trip for 9 – 12 graders to Amistad’s Casa Esperanza in Bolivia will be from June 24 through July 2. The signup deadline for this trip is February 1. The two level I catechesis classes will be combined in the atrium classroom on the 2nd floor this Sunday, November 19 only. Royal Chef Shares Secrets at Exchange Book Signing. Darren McGrady, personal chef to the Queen and Princess Diana, will share his secrets for making “palaceworthy” meals for your friends and family Wednesday, November 29, at St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange in Highland Park Village. Chef McGrady will sign his new cookbook, The Royal Chef at Home: Easy Season Entertaining, from 2:00 – 4:00. Focusing on holiday festivities his book features Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, and other special occasions. Advent Quiet Day Saturday, December 2. Do you wish God spoke to us like God did to characters in the Bible? Examine this question at Advent Quiet Day, Saturday, December 2, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Coke Activities Room. Be a Jubilee Book Buddy. Volunteer one-on-one to work with a child at that needs your help to improve their reading skills! Be a Book Buddy at O.M. Roberts Elementary, our Jubilee neighborhood school. You can pick the time and day that best works for you, 30 to 60 minutes once a week. You will make a difference in a child’s life. Nationally acclaimed architect, Max Levy, will discuss the inspiration that led him to create the Saint Michael Courtyard Columbarium at a special meeting Sunday, December 3, at 10:00 in the Parlor. The Saint Michael Columbarium was selected as one of Texas’ 10 best architectural designs in 2016 by the Texas Society of Architects. Mission and Outreach Volunteer Opportunities.
