Throughout Advent there are wonderful activities and events that will make the Christmas season more meaningful for you and your family. Take the Advent Activities card in your worship bulletin and participate as often as you can. Yearend Giving Discussion Today in the Parlor. The tax implications of yearend giving will be discussed today at 10:00 in the Parlor. John Bergner, chairman of the wealth preservation group at Dallas law firm Winsted, P.C., and Jim Smith, Managing Director of Smith, Jackson, Boyer & Bovard, will review tax deductions that are easy to overlook, provide information on making yearend gifts, and answer your taxrelated questions. Advent Home Communions This Week. An Advent Home Communion is a wonderful celebration of our life at Saint Michael. There are three this week: Monday, Diane Bumpas hosts at the home of Mary & Neil Dorflinger, 5527 Farquhar Lane; Tuesday at the home of Nell Ann Hunt, 3704 Hildago in Irving; Wednesday the Saints ‘N’ Singles meet at the home of Ellen & Chris Carrie, 6810 Turtle Creek. Heal the Hurt of the Holidays at the Advent Liturgy of Remembrance and Light December 8. Through prayers, music, and the lighting of candles, the Advent Liturgy of Remembrance and Light seeks to bring peace, healing, and wholeness in the midst of grief during the holiday season. The service is Tuesday at 6:00 in Saint Michael Chapel. A reception will be in the Parlor following the service. Advent Meditation Booklets Available Now. Devotions written by parishioners, staff, and clergy are available in the Advent Meditation booklet, which is available at the church and online at www.saintmichael.org/advent-meditations.

Youth Ministry Progressive Dinner Wednesday, December 9. Saint Michael Youth (grades 6 – 12) will be eating their way around town on Wednesday evening, December 9. Saint Michael Episcopal School Christmas Program to be Livestreamed. The students of Saint Michael Episcopal School perform their Christmas program Thursday, December 10 at 11:00 in the Church. The December 20 Nativity Pageant and two Christmas Eve worship services will be streamed as well.
Crèche Collection at the Center of Tomorrow’s Women of Saint Michael Tea. Start the Christmas season with the Women of Saint Michael. The lunchhour is a great time to relieve a little stress and reboot your day. On Wednesday, grab a sack lunch and meet at the Saint Michael Chapel at 11:45. Music director James Diaz will play the music of Bach, and The Rev. Lisa Flores Musser will lead Noonday Prayers. You’ll be on your way before 1:00. Treat yourself to a refreshing break in the midst of the busy holiday season. I Believe in Angels Shopping Day is Saturday. Today is the final day to deliver the “I Believe in Angels” gifts to the church. Next Friday will be set-up day, and Saturday, December 12, will be “Shopping Day” for Jubilee residents. Volunteers are needed for both days. If you would like to remember a loved one this Christmas, fill out one of the Flower Memorial envelopes enclosed in the worship bulletin with the names of those you want to honor either in Memory or Thanksgiving and return it with your check by Wednesday, December 16. Flower Memorial envelopes are also available at the South Lanai reception desk. Honduras Threads: Cursillo in Action. Honduras Threads, an outreach ministry of Saint Michael’s, gives women in small villages of Honduras a means to sustain their families and their faith. For Saint Michael missioner, Melanie McGill, Honduras Threads was a life-changing experience…Cursillo in action. Hear Melanie’s story today at 12:00 Noon in the Youth Center. Tube Socks for Meals on Wheels. Meals on Wheels is collecting tube socks for the elderly and homebound in Dallas who receive their meals from the organization.
