Followers of Christ, Spreading God’s Love

Welcome to Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. Thank you for worshiping with us in this season of Advent. We urge you to take time to focus, think, pray, and give thanks for the blessings that we have received from the birth of the Christ Child. There are many services and activities at Saint Michael that will brighten your Christmas experience. Join us often. “Heart Of Giving” Supports Outreach Ministries. Heart of Giving is a way to recognize family, friends, or business associates this Christmas. It supports Saint Michael’s Mission and Outreach Ministries: The Good Samaritan Fund; Tela, Honduras Mission trip; Amistad, Bolivia Mission trip; and the Honduras Threads Mission trip. Heart of Giving cards are available to purchase outside the Book Shop and at the South Lanai reception. Help with Jubilee Park’s I Believe in Angels Shopping Day. The I Believe in Angels gifts are in. Now we need help on Friday, December 15 to sort the gifts into age categories and to set up “the store.” And, we need help at the Saturday, December 16 “shopping day” to wrap the presents. Contact Maria Martin mariaomartin@ sbcglobal.net or Nancy Moore nancystahlamoore@yahoo.com to sign up. Jubilee Park Seniors Have Jingle Bell Ball This Week – Pecan Pies and Brownies Needed. Wednesday, December 13, Saint Michael will continue its traditional Christmas celebration for the Jubilee Park seniors, which will include a luncheon, entertainment, and gifts provided through I Believe in Angels and our knitting ministry that made more than 100 winter hats and scarves. To add a sweet ending to the party, we need 20 pecan pies and 8 dozen brownies. The goodies should be delivered on Wednesday, between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. to the south lanai. Contact Electra Harelson at electra.harelson@gmail.com. Parish Nurse Sunday December 17. Stop by the South Lanai next Sunday, December 17; the Parish Nurse will be ready to discuss Mental health/Stress/Grief Awareness during the holidays. She will also be able to check your blood pressure. Contact: Dianne Boyd, dboyd@saintmichael.org.

Giving To Saint Michael Is Easy Before I got married, I didn't give away much money. My husband was raised giving 10% of his allowance, saving some and spending the rest. He never questioned the practice. After we got married, he educated me on this practice. It was painful at first, but nearly 10 years later I can honestly say that giving financially to our church has become one of the greatest blessings in my life. My faith increases when I follow God out of my comfort zone. Jesus is so clear on how important it is to give and I believe there is no better place to give than to Saint Michael and All Angels to do the work of God’s Kingdom. Lili, Matt, Freddy, Jack Luth
