FROM THE RECTOR
Welcome to Saint Michael—we’re glad you’re here! Please take a moment to fill out the welcome card, either physically or digitally, that can be found on the opposite page or in the pew back in front of you. Our Welcome Team members are in the hallways today to help you with anything you need.
Our worship continues each week throughout the summer, along with adult classes and activities for children and youth of all ages. Please check the schedule to the right for details on classes and activities, and if you need help navigating to particular rooms, there are Greeters in the hallways to help. And thank you to the dozens of adults and teens who volunteered this past week to make Vacation Bible School such a success!
As we prepare to worship together, I invite you to take a moment and center yourself on God’s presence. Worshiping, learning, and giving together help us grow closer to who God created us to be, and you’re part of that work. May God bless you today and every day, and I hope to see you again very soon!

“Amazing Grace”
Amazing grace! how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see!
‘Twas grace that taught my heart to hear, and grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed. The Lord has promised good to me, His word my hope secures; He will my shield and portion be as long as life endures.
Through many dangers, toils, and snares I have already come.
‘Tis grace has brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun, We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise, than when we’d first begun.
Words: St. 1-4 John Newton (1725-1807), St. 5 attributed to John Rees, fl. 1859; CCLI #1718120

Prayer
Almighty and most merciful God, we remember before you all poor and neglected persons whom it would be easy for us to forget: the homeless and the destitute, the old and the sick, and all who have none to care for them. Help us to heal those who are broken in body or spirit, and to turn their sorrow into joy. Grant this, Father, for the love of your Son, who for our sake became poor, Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.

SUNDAY FORMATION
Whisper: How to Hear the Voice of God
Now–July 30 | 10 a.m. | Saint Michael Chapel
Today: The Rev. Kenneth H. Brannon
We are focusing on the ways God speaks in our lives and how we can tune in. If there was one thing that defined the Apostles and the first century church, it’s that everything they did was guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit. As we enter the season of Pentecost, we’re going to look at the ways the Holy Spirit speaks and how we can better hear the voice and wisdom of God for our lives and for our church.
SUNDAY FORMATION: CLASS FOR PARENTS
Raising Christ-Centered Children
Now–August 6 | 10 a.m. | Theater
Led by the Rev. Christian Basel
Join us for a study rooted in scripture that will help us gain a perspective on raising children to be centered on Christ and help you wrestle with the challenges and joys of parenting.
GOSPEL OF JOHN BIBLE STUDY
Taught by Dr. Tim Smith
Tuesdays
1 p.m. and also 6 p.m. Room 106
There is no Gospel like the Gospel of John! It claims to be an eyewitness account, shares stories of Jesus found nowhere else and offers a different chronology of Jesus’ ministry. This makes the reading and study of John’s Gospel unique, powerful and life-giving! This will be an in-depth, verse by verse study utilizing the lenses of the first century historical, geographical, cultural, literary, social and religious context, opening an entirely new world of understanding scripture! To sign up, please email Tim Smith, tsmith@saintmichael.org
