Welcome to Saint Michael—we’re glad you’re here! Please take a moment to fill out the welcome card, either physically or digitally, that can be found on the opposite page or in the pew back in front of you. Our Welcome Team members are in the hallways today to help you with anything you need.
Please consider some new habits of service this summer. In the back of this bulletin, you will find many outreach opportunities. Among those many opportunities, there’s an easy one you can do today! At all the doors of the church, we have grocery bags for you to take a fill with non-perishable items to stock the North Dallas Shared Ministry pantry. Join us!
As we prepare to worship together, I invite you to take a moment and center yourself on God’s presence. Worshiping, learning, and giving together help us grow closer to who God created us to be, and you’re part of that work. May God bless you today and every day, and I hope to see you again very soon!

All are invited to come forward to the Communion rail at the direction of our ushers. Stand or kneel at the rail as you are able, and receive the wafer in the palm of your outstretched hands. If you desire a gluten-free wafer, clasp your hands in front of you with your palms down. Receive the wine by drinking from the chalice as it is offered to you, or by retaining the wafer, to dip lightly into the chalice for yourself. If you are not receiving, you may cross your arms over your chest and receive a blessing. If you are unable to physically come to the rail, please indicate to an usher that you would like to receive Communion at your seat.

The Second Lesson Romans 7:15-25a
I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. Now if I do what I do not want, I agree that the law is good. But in fact it is no longer I that do it, but sin that dwells within me. For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot do it. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do. Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I that do it, but sin that dwells within me. So I find it to be a law that when I want to do what is good, evil lies close at hand. For I delight in the law of God in my inmost self, but I see in my members another law at war with the law of my mind, making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Hunger Facts
One in nine Texas residents (3,440,700) are food insecure.
Only 1 in 7 children who receive free or reduced lunch during the school year are reached by a summer food program.
79% of these families have children, 50% of them are working families.
19.6% of children in Texas live below the poverty line.
Prayer
Almighty and most merciful God, we remember before you all poor and neglected persons whom it would be easy for us to forget: the homeless and the destitute, the old and the sick, and all who have none to care for them. Help us to heal those who are broken in body or spirit, and to turn their sorrow into joy. Grant this, Father, for the love of your Son, who for our sake became poor, Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.

If there was one thing that defined the Apostles and the first century church, it’s that everything they did was guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit. There is no Gospel like the Gospel of John! It claims to be an eyewitness account, shares stories of Jesus found nowhere else and offers a different chronology of Jesus’ ministry. This makes the reading and study of John’s Gospel unique, powerful and life-giving! This will be an in-depth, verse by verse study utilizing the lenses of the first century historical, geographical, cultural, literary, social and religious context, opening an entirely new world of understanding scripture! School Supply Distribution for DISD Students

Volunteer to distribute school supplies for DISD students on Saturday, July 29 and August 5 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Ask a friend or family member to help DISD students get ready for school. Supplies will already be sorted into categories by age/grade for distribution. Students can receive community service hours.
School Uniform Distribution for DISD Students
