THE ELEVENTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST SAINT MICHAEL CHAPEL | 9 AM AUGUST 21, 2022 JOY! A Childr n’s Service e
We’re glad you’re here! We would love to get to know you and help you get to know us. Saint Michael is a vibrant group of people choosing to live life as a community: pursuing Jesus, caring for one another, and serving those in need. While you’re here with us today, we’d love for you to do two things: 1. Fill out a Welcome Card. They’re in the pew back in front of you, or use the QR code to use the quick, mobile-friendly “Get in Touch” form. 2. Stop by the South entrance. You’ll see greeters wearing “Welcome” ribbons/lanyards and they can answer questions about a worship service, formation class, or childcare. We look forward to seeing you soon! Rob Springer leads our Welcome and Connection ministries at Saint Michael and he would love the opportunity to connect and answer any questions you may have. Feel free to contact him at (903) 405-7447 or rspringer@saintmichael.org. The Lord has promised good to me, His word my hope secures; He will my shield and portion be as long as life endures. Through many dangers, toils, and snares I have already come. ‘Tis grace has brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home. When we’ve been there ten thousand years bright shining as the sun, We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise than when we’d first begun.Words: St. 1-4 John Newton (1725-1807), St. 5, attributed to John Rees, fl. 1859; CCLI #1718120

FINAL MARKET OF THE REGULAR SEASON! Saturday, September 3 Stock up on your favorite foods and thank our farmers, ranchers, and food artisans for another wonderful season!
Our first in person Compline will feature music specially chosen for the 9/11 commemoration. Future in person Choral Compline dates are November 20, January 8, February 26, and April 23. Entrance is through the main church doors on Douglas Ave. The webcast of Compline will continue every Sunday night at 8 pm starting September 25.
This year, we adjust how we offer the special Sunday night service of Choral Compline. We will now have this meditative, candlelit service only 5 times a year for in person attendance. For each in-person service, we’ll have candle light, a priest officiant, processions, incense, and a reception following. Our Choral Compline lasts just under 30 minutes and is entirely sung—no spoken words or musical instruments. It’s a wonderful way to conclude the weekend in peace and quiet. Mark your calendar and invite someone who doesn’t regularly go to church!
