Salva Magaz is Swiss born in Geneva from Spanish parents. At 18, he began traveling the world through Europe, Africa and Asia discovering a passion for travel photography. Then, fascinated by the Himalayan world, Salva studied it for 15 years by staying regularly in India, Nepal and Tibet.He photographed during his travels different aspects of this culture and many Tibetan masters, including meeting the Dalai Lama several times. In 1998 he traveled overland thousands of miles across Asia for 2 years, from Southeast Asia to Europe. Salva Magaz’s photography explores the world around him and infuses an altruistic approach to the world. Particularly orienting his photographic practice and drawing attention to lesser publicized societal issues and groups of people.
