WHO’S WHO MELISSA BRAUSCH is a Sacramento native who is over the moon excited to be a part of her first production with New Helvetia Theatre. Most recently she was seen spending her summer nights on the island of Nantucket as Sandy in Grease! Some of her favorite credits include: Disaster! (Marianne) with Sacramento Theatre Company as well as Annie (Grace), The Producers (Ulla), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Titania) and Reefer Madness (Mary Lane). HANNAH JANE KILE is an actor, singer, multiinstrumentalist, & composer who often draws comparisons to her heroes, Bonnie Raitt, Norah Jones, & Sara Bareilles. She is a favorite opener among national acts some of which include Grammy winning Patty Griffin, Ingrid Michelson, blues legend Carolyn Wonderland, & jazz heroes Sammy Miller & The Congregation. SIDNEY RAEY-GONZALES is thrilled to be a part of New Helvetia Theatre’s production of 35mm. Sidney graduated from Sacramento State in the winter of 2017 with a B.A. in Theatre and a minor in English. Past roles include the Witch in Sondheim’s Into the Woods, Nina in Sutter Street Theatre’s In the Heights, Sarah Brown in Sacramento State’s production of Guys and Dolls, and she was just featured as Audrey in a professional run of Little Shop of Horrors with Cinnabar Theatre Company.

WILLIAM SCHMIDT is a recent graduate of Sacramento State with his degree in Theatre. A native to Sacramento, William grew up singing with multiple church groups but found his love for all aspects of theatre four short years ago and has not slowed down since! CSUS credits include Piragua Guy (In The Heights), Sky Masterson (Guys and Dolls) and Oberon (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) for which he earned a nomination for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (Finalist: top 16 over 240 teams) and winning Best Musical Theatre Scene as well as scholarships and offers from prestigious musical theatre programs at schools of acting including Stella Adler School of Acting in NYC and the National Theatre Institute at the O’Neill theatre in Connecticut. This past spring he was once again nominated to attend the festival for his performance in his senior production The Present. He also enjoyed being in the ensembles for The Producers, Annie, and Peter and The Starcatcher. Sutter Street Theatre: Audrey II (Little Shop of Horrors) and Leaf Coneybear (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee); Fair Oaks Theatre Festival: Jack/Jesus (Reefer Madness). Artistic Director of Rogue Music Project and Professor of Vocal Music at Cosumnes River College. His degrees are from Michigan State University and the Moores School of Music-University of Houston. At home in operatic and musical theatre worlds, as well as in jazz and pop genres, Tau has proven a versatile performing artist, educator, and director. Tau served as the Director of Opera Theatre at Sacramento State University for six years and directed the Houston Grand Opera’s Education and Outreach touring opera program for youth, Opera To Go! which prepared young professionals and college-level artists for the stage performing in an opera troupe dedicated to young audiences. As a performing artist, Mr. Tau toured with Disney’s The Lion King for nearly nine years, performing the role of Banzai with both the Cheetah and Gazelle companies, which traveled internationally. Other credits include roles at Tony Award-winning theaters Alley Theatre and Theatreworks Palo Alto, Sacramento’s Broadway at Music Circus, Theater Under The Stars, The MUNY, and many more. Tau appears on Albany Records in Roger Nelson’s operatic adaptation of A Room with a View and Disney’s A Lion King Christmas recordings. As a composer, Tau’s operas A Night At the Algonquin, Lucky Hans and The Pre-Show Opera Lecture were both commissioned and premiered by Lone Star Lyric where they enjoyed successful runs. He has also composed for Houston Grand Opera’s HGOco, Sacramento’s MôD Artists, as well as his own initiatives including Lions in the Library. He is also the acting producer but would like to change that. Soon. For the last three summers, he has worked under director Glenn Casale at Broadway at Music Circus. In 2016, he helped filmmaker Greta Gerwig stage the audition sequence for Immaculate Heart and Xavier’s co-production of Merrily We Roll Along in the Golden Globe Award winning film Lady Bird. Select NHT directing credits: Little Fish, They’re Playing Our Song, Tell Me on a Sunday, Merrily We Roll Along, Passion, and Marry Me A Little. NHT producing highlights include: It’s Only Life with composer John Bucchino, the Northern California premiere of [title of show], and Next to Normal. He has taught at both Christian Brothers and Cristo Rey High Schools. Local acting credits: Capital Stage (The Burglars of Hamm’s The Behavior of Broadus) and B Street Theatre (Junie B. He holds a B.F.A from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where he studied musical theatre at CAP21.
