The breath of Autumn
Following this past summer’s heat, the recent cool weather has made me appreciate the rain and a soft cool breeze even more. Hopefully, we are done with our hottest weather and our cooler season will last for several months. Autumn doesn’t only bring more enjoyable weather, but also brings certain ‘pet perils’, and there are some season-specific things we should be take into consideration.
First, rodents begin looking for a warm place to spend the coming winter. We react – often forgetting that mice and rats are invading the same space used by our pets, and the same poison that kills a rat can kill a pet. If not caught early enough and treated by a veterinarian, ingestion of rat poison can be fatal for pets. Natural pest control is less expensive than buying and applying pesticides, and it’s safer for your garden, your family, the natural wildlife and the environment.
Snakes are also looking for their winter homes and may be a little more grumpy than usual. If y
