Home | Calendar | Our Pastor We hope this website will serve as a primary source of information about our small, but very active, congregation located in Sullivan, Missouri. Please peruse our site. You will find that along with worship and service to the Lord, we maintain a very active schedule for both our congregation and the surrounding community. Once you've familiarized yourself with our church through this site, come and visit! Meet our minister, Steve Williams, and experience all that Grace has to offer for yourself! We look forward to seeing you soon!

God Bless! The Congregation of Grace United Methodist Church The Reverend Steve Williams is a native Missourian. His family moved a lot while he was growing up - probably a sure sign that God was preparing him for the itinerant ministry! He graduated high school in Festus, MO, and earned his undergraduate degree in Music Education from Webster College in St. Louis, MO. Steve taught vocal and instrumental music for four years in the North Nodaway School District (just north of Maryville, MO), before finally answering God’s call to the ordained ministry. He received his Master of Divinity from Saint Paul’s School of Theology in Kansas City in 1986. Steve has served the Sheridan UMC, in Sheridan, MO, Blue Springs First UMC (as an associate pastor), the Theodosia UMC, the Burnswick/Triplett/Prairie Chapel Charge, the Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry at what is now Truman State University in Kirksville, where he also served as a part time associate at Kirksville First UMC, the Valley Park/Lewis Chapel Charge, and Concord Trinity UMC (as an associate pastor). He is currently in his third year of serving as pastor of Grace United Methodist Church. Steve’s wife Rachel is also an ordained United Methodist Minister, currently on leave, and teaching at Owensville High School. Steve and Rachel have four children, and three grandchildren. Steve and Rachel lend their beautiful voices to the Chancel Choir at Grace and the Sullivan Community Choir, and Steve plays trombone in the “Sounds of Grace” Ensemble and the “Sullivan Brass Band”.

Home | Calendar | Our Pastor Grace United Methodist Prayer Chain Prayer Request We invite any person requesting prayer to telephone Grace United Methodist Church at 573-4686010 or e-mail GRACE with the following information. 1. Name of person requesting prayer. 2. Name of person for whom we will pray. 3. Address of persons for whom we are praying, if available, so a card can be sent from the church informing the person that we are praying for him/her. 4. Some description or any other information you would want to share about the need for prayer. We do not require this, only what you want to share about the situation. If you do not want to share the need, you could say something like. “my friend is going through a rough time right now”.

Do You Want to Be a Member of the Prayer Chain? You can be part of the prayer chain by either receiving a call on the telephone or a message by e-mail. Most members do not have to contact anyone. If you wish to help by contacting others, please indicate that with your initial contact. To initiate membership, please either telephone the Grace United Methodist Church at 573-468-6010 or e-mail GRACE.

Things You Might Want to Know 1. All e-mail messages will be sent in undisclosed recipients’ format. This means that your name or e-mail address is not placed across the internet for others to use. 2. There will never be attachments with any e-mail messages. 3. All outgoing e-mail messages for the prayer chain pass through a virus check program. While this does not guarantee absolute virus free messages, up to date technology is being used. 4. If you have a telephone answering machine, messages from the prayer chain will be left on that service, so the caller can continue calling to get prayer concerns out to others. 5. Over 70 people are currently on the Grace United Methodist Church Prayer Chain. Imagine the power of 70 people praying for you. 6. This is both an outreach and spiritual formation program of the Grace United Methodist Church. You do not have to be a member of the church to belong to the prayer chain.
