WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE FUNDING? Parents of children aged 3 or 4 Working parents - Both parents, in a 2 parent family, must be working or the sole parent in a lone parent family Earnings - Each parent must earn, on average, a weekly minimum equivalent to 16 hours at the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage.

This includes parents who are self- employed or on zero hours contracts Income - Each parent must have an annual income of less than £100,000 Residence - You must live in England

From September 2017 many working parents of 3 to 4-year-olds will be eligible for 30 HOURS FREE CHILDCARE The 30 hours will be spread across 38 weeks of the school year – in other words, it is available term time only.

DOES FREE MEAN FREE? This offer is for two 3 hour sessions, morning and afternoon.

Most nurseries are asking parents to pay for lunchtime cover at a cost of around £20 per week.

At Forest Academy we provide free lunch cover.

Children will just need to bring a packed lunch.

WHAT IF I WEDNESDAY 28TH JUNE DON’T QUALIFY FOR THE 30 HOURS? WEDNESDAY 7TH JULY Even if you don’t qualify for any help with childcare costs, 3 and 4 year olds are still eligible for the current 15 hours funding. This is 570 hours of free childcare At Forest across the academic year Academy we offer 15 hours per week. support to parents/carers by offering flexibility. Many parents have opted to condense the 15 hours into 2 ½ days, others have opted for 1 full day and 3 part time sessions. Some have opted to increase the nursery hours even further by paying for extra sessions at £15 per session.
