The name of the switch refers to Lux (Latin) or Luce (Italian). There are a few combinations; with one, two or four led lines. These led lines are very sensitive to the human touch and one single swipe is all that it takes to switch on/off the lights or dimming. We all know the swipe movement from our smartphones and tablets. The Lucia switch can process many different commands and many different programmations can be inserted. The Lucia switch recognizes : a short touch and a longer touch, a double touch and a swipe movement. The Lucia led lines show the position where the led can be touched in order to put a command. We are also promoting Design and Technology awards so that innovation and trends are rewarded for the future of the Automation Industry. The Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) is very close to my heart. Since the last 37 years of my Membership, this long journey involves nearly 25 years of active participation at the National Executive Committee and Mumbai Chapter in various capacities. Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) is a Vast Canvas comprising all Stakeholders of the Interior, Architecture and Construction Industry. Founders of IIID had a great vision as they brought Professionals on one hand; Service providers, Manufacturers, Traders on the other hand. This created a common platform, for them to join hand in hand for the betterment and development of the fastest-growing interior industry. In my professional journey of 40 years, I can proudly say that IIID has been more than 100% successful and we all are witness to that. Today IIID is in its 50th Year. Its presence is panning India with 32 Chapters and Centres and one centre in Dubai with nearly 10,000 members overall. Over the last decade, numerous technologies have emerged giving birth to endless innovations. Smart homes quite rapidly became popular as well as affordable and a viable technology option for consumers. Today, smart homes are more about security assurance and living ‘Green’, as, these are sustainable and make sure that unnecessary amount of energy is not consumed. Also, using smart home technology, intruders can be kept away from a house in the owner’s absence. When I started my practice as an Interior Designer 40 years ago, the profession of interior design was majorly looked upon as the art of craftsmanship, aesthetics and space planning. There was no such technology as home automation. The only technology-aided device we could think of was Kitchen appliances. Besides, we used elevators, air conditioners, some telecommunication devices and computers about 25 years back. The portfolio of ADL mostly includes Residential segments. We cater to high-end Bungalows across

India, interiors of luxury residences, duplexes, Pent House, Sky Villas and show Flats for Prestigious Real Estate Projects across Mumbai. We also design and built large scale corporate offices in various states. Today 8 out of 10 clients prefer automation in their homes and workspace. We are rich in experience i.e., almost 40 years & more energetic with our younger generation taking the lead in upgrading with value addition in services and technological advancements in each project. Their Innovative thinking is well versed with global trends and the latest updates of materials as well as technology. We offer almost all consultancy designs and services under one roof thus providing one point solution to our clients. With high efficiency & detailed virtual presentations, we make the journey for each home a hassle-free unique experience. On the primary benefits of home automation, Shah explained, “Here we as designers have a big role to play to guide the clients.
