A snail race is a fun, safe game you can play at home. 3
4
Find five snails and select nice names like: • Scene Stealer • Good Genes • Bones • Prune • Stone Face
5
Take the five snails and put them in the middle of a ring. Use a cup to keep them in place until you are ready to start the race. Choose someone to commentate. Start the race with the words, “On your marks. Get set. Slow!” 6
7
Lift the cup and see them go! There are no rules. A snail completes the race when it slides over the line. The first one wins the prize. 8
Comprehension Questions: 1. How does a snail win a snail race? 2. What keeps the snails in place before the start? 3. What would you call your racing snail?
